And here's the list of gods, a full day later than i promised, i'm so reliable.
Kakaran
Kack-ah-raan
(The Berserker, The Bloodthirster, The Crazed, The Psychopath)
Chaotic Evil
Originally a lesser demon, Kakaran rose rapidly through the ranks of hell thanks to an unnatural bloodthirst even by demonic standards and an insane strength to match. Lacking any real technique or skill, Kakaran supplanted both with raw power and the kind of insanity that can be wielded as a physical weapon. But Demon Lord wasn't good enough for Kakaran, he had nothing less than Godhood in his sights, and when he defeated the long forgotten original God of War, anointing himself in the God's blood and devouring the divine spark that rests in the heart of every heavenly being, Kakaran achieved true divinity and became the new God of War, picking up Slaughter, Insanity, Chaos, Destruction and Strength on the side.
Being a Demon Lord, Kakaran is no stranger to trading in souls, and he likes souls, the only thing that pleases him more than having his servants leap into battle with foam at their mouths and blood on their bodies (their own or their enemies, either is acceptable) is to do so in person, and with the distinct lack of living worshippers in the present era, Kakaran is both willing and eager for new followers, willing even to reverse death itself, once or twice at least.
Gameplay Effects
Alignment change to Chaotic
Choice of Fighter, Barbarian or Unholy Warrior. Other martial classes may also be acceptable. Kakaran frowns upon mages and magic users.
Character gains the Half-Fiend template, but suffers sanity issues.
Character may or may not suffer strange and often uncontrolled mutations.
Pariah
Pahr-Ai-Ah
(Bane of Life, The Outcast, The Traitor)
Neutral Evil
When the gods were young a rift formed between them; those who felt that only through direct intervention with the mortal races could they grow to their full potential, and those who felt that such interventions should be avoided at all costs to prevent contamination. Pariah was the third side; it consisted entirely of himself and it played off against both other sides, Pariah has the dubious honour of being able to personally lay claim to the deaths of over fifty lesser gods, and six greater gods, as well as being at least partially responsible for the deaths of hundreds more.
It took nearly two eons before the Gods finally realised what Pariah was doing and another eon to stop him, Pariah had not acted with any real secrecy or intelligence, but he had moved with deadly efficiency; none who learned of his actions lived to warn the other Gods. When he was finally subdued the Gods discovered, to their horror, that he had devoured the majority of his victims; Pariah's divinity was so great and so powerful that he was beyond the other Gods abilities to destroy, all they could do was imprison him and hope that he would never escape.
To this end, they cast Pariah into the all-consuming void at the heart of the Universe, a hole in space and time that not even a God could escape. Pariah's body remains in that nothingness to this very day, but as the Gods weakened Pariah found some way to send his mind forth from the all-consuming infinity and begin converting mortals and immortals alike. Pariah is always looking, always searching for new servants, hoping to one day find the one who will learn how to free him from his prison.
Gameplay Effects
Divine Classes cannot follow Pariah, as he is unable to supply power to such classes. Ur-Priests are the singular exception as they may steal Divine energy from other Gods to power their abilities.
Character is put under a mental command to do anything in his power to free Pariah; should an option arise that might possibly lead to this knowledge the character is forced to take that path, whether he wants to or not.
Character may become tainted by the void that imprisons Pariah.
Iyatha
Eee-Yahth-Ah
(The Jester, The Unknown, The Lady)
Unknown Alignment
Exactly who and what Iyatha is, none can say. The Gods themselves cannot discern her origins; she was not born in the same moment of creation as they were, yet none can remember a time when she was not there. Some suggest that perhaps she preceeded that moment of creation, that she is not divine but rather a being from outside the bounds of creation; the dreaded Unreality Plains, but others scoff at this and declare it nonsense. The truth is; nobody knows for sure.
Iyatha's goals are as enigmatic as her origin, at times she plays games against the entire pantheon, at other times she has been instrumental in defeating great enemies, some who even stood a chance at destroying the universe itself. Her allies are as random as the toss of a dice and as lasting and reliable as morning frost. Cults of Iyatha spring up wherever luck or chance can be found, for it is widely believed that she is the embodiment of chance itself.
Whatever the reason, Iyatha is one of the few gods willing to revive the dead with no ulterior motive of her own, although the outcome of such revivals, or even if she is willing to do so, is entirely up to pot luck.
Gameplay Effects
Character is reincarnated into a random body with a random class. He retains all prior memories, languages and attribute scores (modified by the new race's modifiers) and recieves a class that is appropriate for his race and scores, although ultimately random.
Character may choose to retain class, but body is not guaranteed to synergise with it if he does so.
The Centurion
Cen-teur-ee-ohn
(No Other Titles)
Lawful Good, Neutral or Evil, as it suits him.
The Centurion is the god of organised conflict, when one wishes for great strength regardless of the cost, one prays to Kakaran, when one wishes for great strength tempered by great intelligence, The Centurion is he who listens.
Nameless and faceless, The Centurion has only his title to identify him, his attire, attitudes and alignment have changed almost constantly over the years, leading many to suspect that he is in fact a succession of different Gods adopting the Centurion persona at different times. The reason for the cycling remains a mystery. The only constants for the Centurion are his Lawful alignment, and the image of an armoured warrior-commander standing over a field of lesser soldiers.
Strangely, the Centurion deals only in the souls of the dead; he offers immortality in exchange for a period of service to those souls that pass into his realm, and many accept. Those who do are reborn into the steel bodies of the Reeves as loyal, unwavering servants to his cause. The period of service varies from individual to individual, as does the nature of the service itself, although Reeves remain lawful and trustworthy even after their service has ended.
The Centurion makes no secret of his goals; nothing short of complete and total conquest of the heavens and the earth. He spends much of his time engaged in combat with the demons of the Lower Hells and often Kakaran himself; attempting to subdue and control the chaotic creatures with many millions of Reeves at his side. The other Gods put up with his imperialistic attitudes because his personas have, at various times, been key in defending and attacking their greater enemies, that and if he died Kakaran would have to find someone else to fight.
Gameplay Effects
Alignment becomes Lawful
Character race changes to Reeve, he retains all prior memories, languages and attribute scores (modified by the new race's modifiers). Reeves are powerful divine constructs built for war and imbued with immortality, this has advantages and disadvantages.
Any class is allowed, although most of the Centurion's boons are best applied to Martial characters.
Those are the four most likely Gods to deal in reviving the dead, although if you're smart you might also be able to make a deal with one of the two Death Gods, maybe, maybe not.
