Earlier this year, I had an e-mail interview with both Toady and Gabe Newell.
BTW, I don't know if Neruz will let me actually use Half-Minotaur.

It makes my starting Str, before any points are spent, 20.

So, here's my monk//fighter.

So it is currently game time, and I haven't heard anything further from Toady or Neruz. So just in case whoever has Neruz's IP address right now is having troublems, I can be e-mailed to relay information at shoruke@gmail.com. Also I've got an eye on my private messages box.

Also, if we're going back to D&D v3.5, are we still using v4 of Gametable?

Maybe we should all get AIM accounts. Then we wouldn't need to ever visit this thread again except for important information, or if someone isn't online when the game starts.

Neruz's profile says he's offline. He probably slept in again... *optimism*

my starting Str, before any points are spent, 20.Abilities.
Code: [Select]
___Base____Race_____Template____Size Mod____Total
STR 14 ____ -- _____   +4   ____   +8   ____ 26
DEX 18 ____ +2 _____ ------ ____   -2   ____ 18
CON 14 ____ +2 _____   +2   ____   +4   ____ 22
INT 14 ____ -- _____   -2   ____  ----  ____ 12
WIS 10 ____ -- _____   +2   ____  ----  ____ 12
CHA 8  ____ -- _____ ------ ____  ----  ____ 8
It is my understanding that you do not get size modifiers to your abilities, that is for monsters that gain size increases due to having many hit dice in their race, and incurs an additional increase in CR, their equivalent to LA. The LA on a size increase is probably +2 or 3...

No, you're wrong there.

If the Base Creature was of Small or Medium size, its size is increased by one category, with all the appropriate changes to its ability scores, etc., plus a +10’ improvement to base movement.  These changes are in addition to the bonuses and penalties listed.

So Neruz has asked me to pass a message on to all of you.  He's been muted so he can't post himself.

His current IP is in his forum sig.  Here it is for ease of access and whatnot:

Quote
IP is Currently 59.101.187.111

He can update his sig, so if this IP doesn't work check his sig in one of his posts, like the one at the beginning of this thread.  That's all and thank you for listening.

I'll probably have to ask this again on Sunday... but for the Uncanny Trickster, it says
Quote
At each level after 1st, you gain class
features (including spellcasting ability) and an increase in
effective level as if you had also gained a level in a class to
which you belonged before adding the prestige class level.
You do not, however, gain the benefit of your previous
class’s Hit Dice, attack progression, skill points, or saving
throws. If you had more than one class before becoming an
uncanny trickster, you must decide to which class to add
each level for the purpose of determining class features.

Does this work with gestalt? For instance, could I choose to apply this to a level in gestalt swashbuckler/fighter, to get the swashbuckler class features and fighter bonus feats?

Well that sounds like something Neruz will need to address next session, but it seems to me that gestalt is meant to balance the classes, so if you could do it with a strong class then if you do it with a weak class it would be appropriate to gestalt it. But I would guess that Neruz will say no on account of it already being prestige classing goodness, so you should go cold turkey on the gestalting dude...
Or perhaps that as a prestige class it already addresses the needs that gestalt addresses.

For myself, I feel that prestige classes are as much of a style choice as base classes, if not more so, and that there are weak prestige classes that could use the boost. One could always say that - *hits the snooze button on the argue with everything panel*

Clerics are listed as Tier 1, but it says nothing about the A.B.C. Ragecleric, which is a cleric that loses some abilities in exchange for some barbarian traits. Barbarians are tier 4, so what ends up being the Tier of the Ragecleric?

For simplicity, you could just go gestalt. Barbarian//Adept.

Adept is a NPC class that gets divine spells at a slower rate than clerics, but at a faster rate than paladins.
