I think you would make a pretty good judge aquizzar, you're among the fairest on this forum and it's where your interests seem to lie.. My chief vent is it's peopled largely by those whose highest authority is the government/media/religion/not themselves. Bear in mind I'm not USain, I'm not telling you how the place should be, nor am I saying it's like that there more than here. Anyway I think 'to fix some shit' are the right reasons.

I'm probably a fugitive as well, I know I had legal fees in a territory of this country in excess of $1500, but I'm in a state now, god bless beauracracy.

The answer is simple.

Become the Governor of South Carolina.

My advice is that you get yourself a nice cloak and a mask, grab a sling, buy a mace, and proceed to make a living in the woods as an outlaw. Any who find you will be drawn in by that impressive chin and you will soon have yourself a band of outlaws who go around clubbing people for their cash. I'd also advise getting very good at hiding in general, since the Law would not take kindly to a bunch of guys leaping out at people from the woods and hitting them.

That sounds like those guys from Battle for Wesnoth.

Alrighty,
If you can prove you never got a notice, you'll probably get off.
Otherwise it'd be like, your sitting at home, drinking a coke, and SWAT bursts in your door and arrests you for not paying the mandatory tax that was instated that morning.
And your TV is broken.
Not exactly fair. They have to give you ample notice.

If I was American, of age, had knowledge about the process, had it on the top of my to-do list and actually knew who you were in real life...

I'd vote for you!

That's what I thought of too. They are actually called outlaws.

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse! Which is often what they say when you're supposed to do something and don't know about it :(

Given our convoluted legal system, it's nigh-impossible for a layman to understand not only the entirety of the law (to the tiniest detail, even) but the horrendously bloated and inefficient bureaucracy.  Our law enforcement and judicial systems prefer to remain lazy and insist that it's the individual citizen's job to know everything, rather than, you know, do their best to keep people informed when something involves them.  The results can be immensely frustrating, time-consuming, and costly for the poor bastard who was "ignorant of the law."  The victim may be outraged and cry "injustice" or whatever, but nobody's listening.  There's nobody rousing the rabble to get the public interested, so nothing gets done.

Is that a good summary?  :P

Essentially, yes.  And that's where I come in.  My first and foremost position - the legal system is such a convoluted, demeaning, expensive gauntlet of impromptu skullfucking that just being accused and then showing up on time is punishment enough for most minor crimes.  Further, it's indeed attendant on the state to fucking inform you of the charges against you and the dates to deal with them, through like, letters and stuff.  And defending yourself should not be an automatic conviction.  When I'm at the dais, if you want to present your own case, I will actually take into account the fact that you are not a lawyer.

And here's a perfect example of why you'll never be elected (or at least re-elected).  You're don't seem gung-ho "it's the law" and "tough on crime" enough.  I mean, you're actually being reasonable.

That doesn't mean nobody'd vote for you, though.  You can view that 8% or so of the vote as a moral victory.  :P

Well when I turned 18 I was suppose to sign up for the draft by law. Yaa... I didn't know about that, never recived anything about that, hell my dad who works in the airforce completely forgot about it. The only reason that I found out about it was in a US history class when the teacher mentioned the draft and that particular rule. So technecally I was a draft dodger for like 2 months.

For two freaking months?!
In switzerland, where the army is an useless group of conservative crackpots, you'd literally get your ass sued to hell, and back to earth, then back to hell, then back to earth, then to Mount Everest, and then, with a mean kick in your ass, the remotest and most desolate recruit camp you can think of, with group showers where you one day WILL have to duck for the soap you dropped.
(Of course, you American's army is debatable, but in Switzerland, it's not. It's useless)

... do you get nifty knives?

I honestly don't know much about the US judicial system, therefore I am here to learn.

If anything, you get the 'idiot knife'. It is a swiss army knife with the following functions: Knife, (can opener)
Lucky officer bastards also get a corkscrew.

They will, however, tell you that you need to go sign up for the draft before they sued you.
