We need a meetup in Seattle when my GF and I plan to visit there for a vacation. Or just a meetup in Chicago! Our city's pretty cool! We've got good food and, luckily, aren't getting the Olympics!

Someone might have a laptop w/ a mic we can borrow that night. I won't, though, since I will be carrying a camera.

Just to remind everyone going to the meetup-- I will be collecting donations(in a fancy jar) for Bay 12 Games. Bring a little extra cash or a check to throw in!

If there is a confirmation on the availability of a laptop, then posting an official skype thing would be good. Does the meetup place have internet though?

It does have wifi, or it did last time.  I might have a shoutcast server you guys can use if you'd like.  I should have enough bandwidth to support a reasonable amount of people.

I need to find a place to sleep. There is no way I am driving there from GA and the flights alone are gonna cost me like $420. Maybe some of us can throw down on a hotel room?

I recommend couchsurfing.org for all your couch surfing needs.  Some friends of mine down the street get folks in via this service all the time, and everyone seems very happy with it.  Why pay for a hotel when you can stay for free and make new friends?

Alternatively, my place is just a couple miles from the venue and we've got a decent amount of crash space.  Out-of-towners are welcome to PM me if they'd like to arrange something.  As long as people are respectful and I don't get too many strangers in my house all at once, this should be workable.  Maybe some other Seattle folks have a couch to offer as well.

We should do syncronized meetups the next "official" one.  We could have a laptop at each end, it would be like a teleconference.  The only problem is those damn time zones.
