Oh with a sentry rune first? Well, that could be the issue since my spellcraft didn`t complain about anything.

/Well, it didn`t work either. Spellcraft says the whole time "Items found:0" Even tough i encrusted and placed an statue with the periodic sentry and the fire rune and another with an dig sentry and an bleeding rune.

Maybe maydays tileset is interfering somehow?

Well mayday's tileset would not change anything. Are you sure you are using 40d16 because it seems that spellcraft does not find any items (at all).

Some of the triggers seem a little hard to get.  How do the dig and death triggers work?

would it work if I made a dwarf have an    [ITEMCORPSE:STATUE:NO_SUBTYPE:METAL:BRONZE]
   [ITEMCORPSE_QUALITY:5]

and place Bronze in the zombie spell section would that cause him or her to drop this item and come back as the living undead
or could I just have them drop STATUE:NO_SUBTYPE:ROCK:SPELL_5 instead?

Nope would not work...
Maybe when modifiers are done encrusting statue with Death Global zombie resurrect would make every dead creature resurrect as zombie

Hmm how do they work... On event of digging or death the list of items encrusted with these sentries is searched and if in range that item is triggered. E.g you have statue <Dig Bleed> you build it near a wall and when someone digs that wall it makes him bleed.

so it has to be encrusted, darn I thought having the spells you wanted all be the same type of metal/rock would activate it.

dang so starting in adventure mode(first) won't grant you these items then.
oh well I'll just wait till we end up with runeless spells and spells that would cause anyone to join you (followers).

so I can't build a wall that is enchanted?

I'd like a link for the magma/lava emitting statues mod, BTW this is a very cool mod, spells yay ;D, some other tiggers you could set up is if the building is set as a room, and thats how far the area effects xstends, the zombie revial and normal revival sound sweet, as a segessetion, could you make a fresh water emitting rune? or a quiver that can be encrusted with a rune that keeps it fulled with magic arrows/bolts. Sweet mod great work

Maybe i should make it so that any rune without trigger would have a default trigger. (Statues periodic, weapons attack, armors attacked) ?

 :-\ i think there is a misunderstanding.... You can only put from what material what spell runes are made. (e.g M IRON Death would mean that <M>etal <IRON> now works as a rune <DEATH>) So later you can use those materials and encrust(for gems) or stud with (for metals). If the item is made from that material it works like it would be last rune in the list or first if its sentry. That way if you have entry M IRON Death and R DIAMOND resurrect you could make IRON statue (coffin, anvil, armour stand) and encrust with diamonds to have area of effect resurrect or make an IRON weapon(armour, ring etc...) and have it encrusted with diamonds to have one character effecting resurrect.

This is starting off really fun, minus the two zombie miners I ended up with. Unwittingly, I think I created a DF version of DEAD SPACE. Oh how fun. Also, Magma or water generating statues would be perfect for playing any map I wanted without having to pour over the sitefinder. Great work!

Added Water and Magma runes... Not sure how it works near walls. Use in open area ( i think it will spawn magma or water in the walls) also due to how water works you will need to dig or disturb water somehow to start it flowing.
