Yeah, but US Congressmen get diplomatic immunity too. I think pretty much every country gives immunity to it's politicians.

Yes, but it was revoked.  You can revoke congressional immunity, which doesn't really make any sense when you think about it.

It's like right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  You have all three of those rights and they're unalienable, but if you commit crimes you lose them.

You can't be prosecuted as a politician, but if you commit a crime you lose that.
