Traps in dig deeper
« on: October 06, 2009, 04:19:01 pm »

I've lost 2 fortresses now because none of my traps go off when orcs walk over them, cage/stone/weapon the orcs just walk through like nothings there and take no damage what so ever.  Is this a bug with the mod or is my game screwed up or are orcs just trap proof?

Orcs have trapavoid. You can simply remove this line in the init file, or come up with more creative defences ;) (.. or really simple ones like a drawbridge ;p).

A long corridor with bridges over a pit is enough :D.
I am not sure, does TRAPAVOID block pressure plates triggering too, or not?

If not, atom smasher bridge traps. :3

Actually, I'm going to do that (AFTER I FINISH MY MOD WORK DAMN ME WORK) for my fortress. SMASHSMASHSMASHSMASH

Trapavoid prevents pressure plates from working as well.

The thing that confuses me about dorfs is this. Dorf 1 dies in an avalance or somesuch. Dorf 2 is friends with dorf 3 and dorf 1. Dorf 2 berserks because of his friends death and kills dorf 3. also a friend. W. T. F.

It does not, however, protect against long corridors full of manually operated spikes.

CURSES I SAY.

Still, this will not prevent my pressure-plate activated atom crushers. Hm, I was thinking something like this...

Walls on either side. A corridor into your fortress with only one little entrance. The corridor is covered with pressure plates near the entrance that activate a MASSIVE bridge coming down just on top of them as they run for the tiny entrance. SQUISH. You could even make it a retractable bridge to drop them into your arena below.
