Though I have claimed a dwarf, I will not be doing this in traditional journal format, it saves time to just tell you what happened and when it happened. Now then, let's start shall we?

Early spring:
Right off the bat I get messages telling me that people are dying in magma, well, this is off to a great start...
Then my dwarf dies... what the... THEY'RE DYING BY THE HUNDREDS!
I finally found the problem... there's a dwarf on a solitary corner of the room, wounded. Don't even ask me how he got there, since the only way across is through the magma. That brings us to our dying dwarves, they're trying to collect the wounded, but they don't seem to realize that magma IS DEADLY.
Unfortunately I can't figure out how to stop it, so if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

He is on the other side of magma river? :o

Well, steel bridge to that side and mine a tunnel to him.

Well, steel bridge to that side and mine a tunnel to him.
That'd take too long while dwarves are still using this as an excuse to commit suicide.
Or just wall/door it off.
I'd really hate getting error messages every single second.

Is there a labor I can disable? If not I'll just use sensei's idea.

After nobody else posted suggestions I found that YOU CAN'T LOCK DOORS?!?!?

EDIT: Yes, you can, but they're going into an aqueduct, and I can't build walls I'll use channels.

Late spring,
Turns out, the magma stopped up all by itself, and the miner never really got around to digging those channels, so i removed them.

Unfortunately, a ton of dwarves and pets died, this may be the beginning of a tantrum spiral, guys, either way, time to start churning out coffins.

I just realized, after adding the new body parts to the other races, that I have an entire squad of dwarves with a shield in each hand and swinging their axes with their penises. There's nightmare fuel for those goblins, in more ways than one.

There's only one problem, I can't find anything, If I'm correct there isn't even a forge!

Early Summer:
Started burial, built a forge.

Oh no! Batman has sprung from ambush! The dwarf he surprised jumped down into a deep chasm. He then proceeded to chase a woodcrafter down a hallway then tried to kill a horse which kicked his ass, rendering him unconscious, then, the woodcrafter he was chasing mans up and finishes him off. "The goddamn Batman" my ass. Another one comes out of hiding and is swiftly dispatched by a wandering marksdwarf.

Mid Summer
More hidden enimies! Another batman and a goblin snatcher, the former is taken care of without a hassle, the latter makes off with a child.
Also, Lots of tantrums but not much chaos.

Bonus Picture:

How many times can you take ONE CHILD?
