I woke up early one morning and walked outside and there was a herd of Kangaroos in my back yard. The biggest one looked at me funny so I backed away and went back to bed.

Animals entering households unexpected happens. Mostly with birds in my case. Although I have seen a few mice, who usually end up dead because I pick up one of my cats and put it in the room. As long as the mouse doesn't move, the cat's feature dependent eyes won't see it. But the mice freak out and _run_. Cat usually creeps up, and I try to get them both outside to avoid messiness.

Australia is officially the best country ever. why have rabbits in your backyard when you can have a herd of kangaroos? are kangaroos good at punching/kicking like popular belief says?

Yes. It's pretty freaky when you're walking through the bush at night and you run into a Kangaroo. It puts it paws up like its going to fight and leans back on its tail.

I ran.

You should name him Hamilton and raise him as your trusted vizier.

His name right now is Survivor.  It's been an entire day and he is still in here.  I see him sometimes, scurrying between hiding places before the cats can get him.

If my cats played any games, they would be campers.  I swear.

My cats only bring in cockroaches.

We used to own chickens though... they murdered several birds and ate them just because they were in reach. Terrifying.

My Cat isn't allowed outside (actually it is my Sister's Cat) but I know she eats every insect and bug she finds in the house.

I don't know HOW she does it but our house has stayed relatively fly free (Which I love her for... I hate flies) with no fly lasting more then a day.

So update:  The little bugger is still alive.  We are trying to see if we can lure him out/get him outside by leaving the window open.

Survivor indeed.

place a bunch of nuts and a girl just chipmonk outside the window as an extra precaution. unless the chipmonk in your house is a girl. if that's the case just chase it out with a frying pan.

(Ready for it?)

Are you Australian?

Actually that's kind of worth asking because about a year ago I went out to feed the chickens and discovered a small flock of peacocks strolling through the yard.

In Northern California.

I still don't know how they got there...

oo.
Peacocks can make an awefull racket. I used to work in a town that had a few feral ones, they would sit on a roof and ...squawk / honk / racket ? anyways the noise was considerable.
So people, should you ever have the money and drive to buy a mansion, don't populate your garden with peacocks...for the sake of your neighbours. Unless you have in excess of a hectare, then all bets are off. You could even have a pedophiliac pettingzoo at that point without much trouble. (truble dissolves in money)

A possum snuck in about a week ago actually. Normally I wouldn't care but I was in a shitty mood so I shot it.
Was that a joke? Are they a pest where you are?

Yeah, they're sorta common around here. And for some reason they sneak in here somehow.
