So there is a chipmonk in my house.
« on: October 06, 2009, 11:51:59 am »

One of my cats brought it in.  It is now hiding behind the refrigerator.

Sadly, I am used to such an occurrence; one of the downsides of having a cat-door I suppose.

The worst are baby rabbits.  Their squeeks sound like human screams.  Worst thing to have in your bedroom at three in the morning.

Anyone else have any experiences like this?

 Shrieking. Goddam. Toads.

This is why we should have cleared out those piles of leaves a long time ago.

I wish our cat would stop bringing in live mice.  Although at least he hasn't brought a live bird in for a while (the last one escaped his clutches and somehow smashed a teapot on the way out).

We used to have three cats and each one would leave one dead mouse each every morning. It was nice that they at least cared.

Did you eat them?

I call them chipmonks out of respect.  Little buggers can JUMP.

A possum snuck in about a week ago actually. Normally I wouldn't care but I was in a shitty mood so I shot it.

No I think It choked to death on it's own blood actually, given how it was flailing around making labored breathing noises for a good minute or two.

Reminds me of when I was staying with family in England.

At about 3AM, the cat brought a bird in and dragged it under my bed.
So I was woken up by a dying bird screaming it's head off as the cat slowly kills it. Right beneath me.

Scared the crap out of me.

I had a live gold finch inside for a while. I managed to get it under a laundry basket before it recovered enough to fly, and carefully pushed it to the door.

Does this need to be asked of her?

Also, it is amazing how many groundhogs can live underneath a shed. Lifting floorboards also causes them to all escape from the same hole they entered.
