A play-by-play of both games:
Ultima Underworld
Loo loo loo, make a character.
Loo loo loo, mark on the map.
Loo loo loo, talk with dudes.
Loo loo loo, kill some stuff.
Loo loo loo, get hopelessly lost and bored.
Loo loo loo, raegquit due to annoying weight limit.
Curse my packrat genes.
X-Com: UFO Defense
Base: Mount Fatass
Build: Long-range radar, alien containment, extra storage
Buy: Doods, stunsticks, flares, extra boolets.
Research: Lazor pistols
Manufacture: Lazor pistols
Attack: A couple sectoid craft
Fire: Ludicrous quantities of boolets and miss every time.
Lose: Tons o' nameless recruits.
Frustratedly name: everyone gets names like "Stormtrooper" "Captain Worthless" and "Mad Larks" (the psychopath wanted a recruit!)
Attack: more sectoids, and two floater terror missions
Lose: nobody. Not a one.
Manufacture: Armor for a couple doods.
Defend: our only base from sectoids while everyone is away, with six lazor pistols and reaction shots from alien guns.
Lose: half our troops at home to panic, berserkers, mind control, and cyberdisks.
Destroy: The cyberdisks, blowing up the sectoids.
Barely skirt past: total disaster. But we manage to pull of the defense just fine.
Attack: Sectoid scout.
Lose: two or three armored doods.
Win: that mission, even if it was annoying losing guys.
Crash: the game. Wah wah waaaaah. Somehow, after researching a reaper terrorist, a sectopod research result popped up, despite my having never seen one. This was confusing. Then I hit okay and it crashed.
Raegquit: the Livestream.
Type up: this largely extraneous postmortem.
WHOAH AND NOW THE LIVESTREAM'S GOING UP AGAIN!
But this time I'm not posting again to advertise it, because I won't be chatting, as my desktop is off, and I'm running the fullscreen version of X-Com. I'll try to regain the lost progress from the crash, at the very least, then, who knows.
WHOAH AGAIN ITS GOING UP AGAIN WHAT WACKINESS
Although this time I don't have a mouse, so it's a very clumsy game of Ultima Underworld on the agenda, and my battery might die.
