Alright, sleeping at my aunt's has turned out to be a totally bad idea. I'm typing this from her computer, as it's the middle of the night and all I'm really concerned about at the moment is burning time.
For starters, the best place I got to sleep is a little couch, which is kind of terrible when I'm very used to sleeping in a nice soft bed. Second, there is no source of white noise, at all, and I've literally grown up going to sleep with white noise, so this isn't a good situation. Third, I'm very used to sleeping nude, and so sleeping with my clothes on is actually kind of uncomfortable. Fourth, I'm not quite sure what's up with my aunt, but she has an absurd number of light sources in her house. Just in the room I was trying to sleep in, there's a christmas tree, a picture of Jesus with christmas lights all around it, a candle, a window with the street lights shining through, and a scenic picture of a river that is designed to glow as brightly as possible for some bizarre reason. I've had to go out of my way to disable all these light sources, but the room is still not as dark as I prefer. Fifthly, while barely noticeable, there's a slight amount of cigarette smoke in the air. Not enough to qualify as second-hand smoke, but enough to continuously bother me. Sixthly, and probably the worst thing, is that my asthma is acting up, and I didn't have the foresight to bring my inhaler with me, as I didn't think we'd actually be spending the night. Now, I'm not quite sure what other people's asthma is like, but when I'm lying there on the couch, I can't get to sleep because I'm literally using all my concentration to tell my lungs to try your goddamn hardest to suck in as much air as possible you ungrateful bastard air sacs. I swear, it feels like the human airways were designed to spontaneously fail and kill themselves sometimes.
All these factors are contributing to a very sleepless night.
