Good.  Now the hardest part.  Make sure you make time for it and be consistent.

There's nothing better than a good night sleep after feeling exhausted but satisfied after a good run/training session/whatever

PS: Mind the shoes.  Don't run without good gear or you'll be sorry in the future (specifically your knees and back).

I don't really have good shoes. I have three pairs of shoes: A pair of old leather shoes which are comfortable, but not really designed for running. A pair of boots which look nice, but wearing them is painful, and a pair of slippers, which are just slippers.

I don't have enough money to get new shoes, unfortunately, and I really wouldn't know what to look for anyway.

Thanks for the advice though from everyone, and yes, I do listen to music. There's this old radio in the weight room that you can turn on and is still fairly nice.

mmm... then don't run... You should be able to get some decent running shoes for 50 us$? more? (I'm not sure about the prices over there but USA is supposed to be cheap).  If you save them for running.  You won't be needing to purchase another pair for a long time (I should do this but I seldom do :P)

I don't have a job Alex, I'm trapped in the forest.

Like, literally, 60$ is all that I have, and shoes are unusually expensive items, especially good shoes.

meh... never mind... But seriously... Avoid running with bad shoes... swim, ride a bike, etc, etc...

on another topic... Have you chosen what career you're going to follow?

Yeah, and look where that got him.

But Alex, do you find it both dull AND interesting?

Also, about the running thing. Just wearing my old leather shoes, I ran 10 minutes straight on a treadmill at a fair jogging speed of 4.0. Now, I'm not sure what the 4.0 is indicative of, but it was a fair joggin speed that much I'm aware of! Anyway, as my out-of-shape nature might suggest, this was an accomplishment, because at around 8 minutes that jog became a death march, and I only completed it out of sheer force of will. Now, I wasn't in pain, but I was definitely exerting myself very hard. I'm surprised at how quickly I recovered though, within minutes I had all my energy back and I actually felt MORE energized than before; such that I went back upstairs and cleaned my room. Today is 10 minutes of cycling, I'm looking forward to it.

I knew you would say this.

Yes... I DO subjectively find it dull thanks to all the things my father imposed on me.  But, objectively speaking, it's an interesting career, like pretty much any engineering.  I also wanted to say something positive... Bore to death! XD

Wrap your feet in duct tape and newspapers until they are shoe-like.

I think the necessary duct tape to perform that operation will be expensive enough to justify the purchase of some real running shoes... ;)

Not to mention the bad combination between perspiration and adhesive.

And I am a number 45,5 in FR.

45,5? Do Argentinians have a different shoe size system?

There are like a zillion different shoe sizing systems because shoes are just annoying overall.

Lack of industry standards does this.
