Turned out alright, nothing BAD happened. So it wasn't a spectacular flaming, exploding failure like I'm used to, at the very least.

When I get back to my room however, my mom calls to tell me my cat she's been taking care of has cancer, and is gonna die. I really love Charlie (my cat) and this is terrible. He was always such a nice and loyal cat, I only wish I could be there when my mom puts him down.

I can sympathize, the same thing happened to my cat just a couple of days ago.

That sucks.  As the owner of two cats (Although Im not living with them right now.) I know that cats are absolutely awesome.

The important thing is knowing that while you were together you took care of him and you both enjoyed the moments together (even when you were jelaous of him because he stayed in your bed while you had to go to school/work  :P).  Cats can be very perceptive and great partners despite what people might think.

On another note, I always find it extremely weird when I hear that an animal has cancer... I usually associate that disease with stress.  Why would an animal get it?

Just because it's an animal doesn't mean it doesn't feel stress, and there are a whole bunch of things that can cause cancer.

I know animals can feel stress.  But they're usually smart enough to have less responsabilities and stuff that could cause unlike human beings.

I just don't really know much about cancer.  What other common causes there are for it.

There are many proven causes of cancer, but stress is not one of them.

Sorry to hear about your cat, Josh.

In all seriousness though, I'm going to college on the 18th, and I don't know how much I'll be able to talk to you guys while there, since I can't lug my big ol' PC there with me, and the local computers might be off-limits AFAIK.

I feel so pathetic lately. My past experiences have shown that I'm terrible at making friends, worse at attacting women, easily depressed, out of shape, a heavy sleeper, bad with money, easily panicked, an atrocious planner, poorly organized, messy, overly quiet and introspective, obstinately solitary, prone to hypochondria, physically weak, intolerant of pain, explosively angry, deeply bothered by personal issues, horrifyingly lonely, and generally only good at APPEARING competent while not actually being competent at anything at all.

This is my only chance though, so I just got to forget about all that and try my best. No pressure Josh, none at all.
"APPEARING competent"
If people think of you as incompetant don't let it get to you so. Don't let it "just" get you irrationaly down, because thats not productive.

Thanks everyone.

I'm waiting for a phone call from my Mom to tell me how it all went.

Ah... I'm having some problems. My feet hurt. They hurt so bad that I just want to sit down all the time. I can't tolerate the incredible achey pain that's just constantly lingering in my feet, which is only slightly relieved when sitting or laying down, but it's way better than standing. One time my feet hurt so bad at the end of the day that I had to sit on the bathroom counter as I brushed my teeth, I just couldn't stand the pain... I'm not sure if it's my shoes, or if I'm on my feet too much, but this is becoming unbearable.

The medical office is there, and it's practically advertised by the staff, but NOONE ever seems to be in there, EVER, and I don't know where to go for help.

That's happened to me before. It happens if I'm standing still in the same place for too long. If I'm standing in the same place for more than like 15 minutes, I always try to shuffle my feet around and stuff. Stand on one foot for a minute, then stand on the other foot. You look like an idiot but your feet don't hurt later.

Well, I suppose now we know Alex doesn't read the anime thread. None of the school computers have the flash or other programs necessary to watch Youtube videos, and it's against the rules to download them.

But they do have USB ports, right?  and you can install a program, right?  Keep that kind of stuff always in your pendrive...
