noone can cast level 2 spells at level 1, and i already included my bonus spells

even if you do get bonus spells you just cant use them unless you already have the ability to cast them. a lvl 1 bard can only cast 0 level spells, wiz/sor/clerics can only do 0/1


also since i got all that extra money imma buy the following

You can if you want, it'll make your transition quicker if a character does die. But I won't be linking to it, unlike active players, until you're in the game.

Correct, extra spells only apply if you already have the ability to cast those spells. If you have an extra level 2 spell, but cannot cast level 2 spells, then you don't get it.

The one exception to this is metamagic boosting the effective spell level of spells. If i apply a metamagic feat to a level 1 spell and make it a level 4 spell, and i have a high enough score to get an extra level 4 spell, even if i can't actually cast level 4 spells yet i still have that 'slot' (it's just unused) and thus i can use it for metamagic.


This becomes important when you get to higher levels and start applying metamagic to spells that makes them higher than level 9.

this is a good idea, can i change my second feat to extend spell

also prepare an extened charm person (effectively a 2nd level spell)

Extended Charm Person is not a second level spell. As a first level Wizard you do not have the ability to cast second level spells. It is a First level spell that uses a second level spell slot to be cast.

You have a second level spell slot (courtesy of your high charisma), but lack the ability to cast second level spells. You can, however, cast a first level spell using your second level spell slot.


It's complicated i know, casters get very complicated very quickly.
