[09:25] * Otoga says "What a wonderful day to start an adventure"
[09:26] <Fenneth> "Ah, but what shall our adventure be? More rat killing?"
[09:26] * Fenneth laughs.
[09:27] * Marie gets up and yawns.
[09:27] <Otoga> "Hopefully we'll be killing some goblins."
[09:27] <GM> You all wake up wonderfully in the upstairs rooms, the inn not being the richest, you sleep in dorm-like rooms, crammed together each with a separate bed. You go down in the morning and get a hearty breakfast of meat, bread and ale. All free, for you rid the bartender of a large problem.
[09:28] <GM> Caron asks the group in a large voice, "Aye you guys. Are ye' looking for work?"
[09:28] * Otoga covers Bedwyr's face in dirt because he's lazy and forgetgul
[09:28] <Fenneth> "If there's gold involved, I'm always willing to work."
[09:28] <Otoga> "What the dwarf said"
[09:29] * Marie nods.
[09:29] <GM> "Aye. The Mayor might need help, maybe speak with the constable too. There's a merchant in this town, not too far away. Ye' may want to speak with him too."
[09:29] <Fenneth> "What's the problem ye be needen solved?"
[09:29] <GM> "It's not me lad."
[09:30] * Otoga walks out of the tavern
[09:30] <Fenneth> "Very well, where can we find the mayor?"
[09:30] <GM> "All three are up the road, to the north. They're all next to each other on the otherside of the road to this inn."
[09:31] * Otoga unties Pony and waits for his companions
[09:31] <Fenneth> "Thanks for the tip, freind."
[09:31] * Fenneth walks out of the tavern.
[09:31] <GM> "Aye no problem dwarf. If ye' ever need help come see me anytime."
[09:31] * Marie follows the dwarf.
[09:31] * Burtel quietly finished his drink before sliding outside with his fellows, his wold trailing behind.
[09:32] * Otoga follows Fenneth while leading Pony on
[09:32] <Fenneth> "So lads, which shall we see first?
[09:32] <Fenneth> "The mayor, or the merchant?"
[09:32] <Otoga> "Mayor, definately"
[09:32] <Fenneth> "My inclenation too."
[09:32] <GM> You look up and down the street, buildings line both sides of the street, to the north the main road leads off into the wilderness, to the south it splits, one going off, appearing disused, while the other looks more used.
[09:33] * Fenneth begins walking north, looking for the mayor's office.
[09:33] <GM> You walk up the streets following Caron's directions, you come to obviously a house made to look grand, however it fails and rather looks rundown. It looks of someone who believe they above their station.
[09:34] <Fenneth> "Well lads, shall we see who's home?"
[09:34] * Otoga goes up to the door and opens it
[09:34] * Fenneth knocks loudly on the open door.
[09:34] <Fenneth> "Anyone 'ome?"
[09:35] * Otoga tells Pony to stay
[09:35] <GM> A man dressed in rough, purple clothes with a large red robe flowing down his back looks out the door. "And who might just be disturbing ME? Who dare aproaches the door of MY abode?"
[09:36] * Marie giggles.
[09:36] <Fenneth> "Simple travelers, who 'eard that ye might be needen some work done."
[09:36] <Otoga> "We have come to assist you. Onwards to glory!"
[09:36] <GM> The man looks thoughtful for moment. "Well I do need something done. Come inside."
[09:37] * Fenneth follows the man inside.
[09:37] <GM> You go inside the mans home, it's decked out in rough, but rich-looking furniture. Mostly copper made to look gold.
[09:37] <Otoga> "What quest do you have for us?"
[09:37] <GM> "I.. Haven't told anyone the specifics of my problem but."
[09:38] <Fenneth> "but...?"
[09:38] <GM> "In my attic, theres a locked safe that I need to open, there are important documents in there, as well as gold. I'll give you half of whatever is in there."
[09:38] <GM> The man looks distressed and worried.
[09:38] <Fenneth> "What be the catch?"
[09:39] <GM> "Uh, nothing! Nothing at all, I just need you to open the safe!"
[09:39] <GM> The man looks furtive and his eyes dart all over the place."
[09:39] <Fenneth> "And the reason ye cannot do it?"
[09:39] <Otoga> "If only Bedwyr were awake."
[09:39] <GM> "It's locked and I have lost the key."
[09:39] <Fenneth> "Right..."
[09:39] * Otoga kicks Bedwyr who is currently being dragged along by his hair
[09:40] <GM> "I'm sure the key is up there though, you could smash it or pick it or try and find the key!"
[09:40] <Fenneth> "Well, I suppose there's no harm in trying..."
[09:40] <Fenneth> "What do ye say, freinds?"
[09:40] <Burtel> "May as well. What could go wrong?"
[09:40] <Otoga> "Aye, aye"
[09:40] <Marie> Let's do it.
[09:41] * Burtel looks calm and slightly bored.
[09:41] <GM> "Good, good, follow me!"
[09:41] * Fenneth follows the mayor.
[09:41] * Otoga follows them up
[09:41] <GM> The man leads you to his stairs, leading you up two flights until you come to a locked door on a small land. The man looks increasingly distressed and furtive.
[09:42] * Otoga pokes the man
[09:42] <Fenneth> "I 'ope ye have the key to this door."
[09:42] <Marie> "Hm..."
[09:43] <Otoga> "I am becoming increasingly suspicious of you, Mayor"
[09:43] <Otoga> "A locked safe had better be all there is in there"
[09:44] <GM> The man pulls out a ring of keys, picking out a specific one, longer than the others he jams it into keyhole. He turns it and a click sounds. He opens the door which leads into a pitch black room for humans, for those with darkvision the first few feet is clear, the room is about 10ft wide. A safe is in the middle of the floor, about 5ft back, however after that the room blends into nothing.
[09:44] <GM> "No, nothing in there!"
[09:44] * Fenneth walks over to the safe.
[09:44] * Otoga follows
[09:44] * Fenneth looks at the safe intently.
[09:45] <Otoga> "Think you can smash it?"
[09:45] * Marie looks into the room then eyes the mayor suspisiously.
[09:45] <GM> You all lead into the room, after you are only a foot or so in the room the man quickly closes the door and locks it.
[09:45] <GM> "My name is Vernon by the way!" He yells through the door.
[09:45] <Fenneth> "Are we at all suprised?"
[09:45] * Burtel pulls a torch from his pack and lights it, lifting it higher he lights the whole room.
[09:46] <Marie> "Not really.
[09:46] <Otoga> "Nope, expected"
[09:46] <Otoga> "We could always smash or burn the door down"
[09:46] <GM> The whole rooms lights up, from the corner four goblins rise up and prepare their weapons.
[09:46] <Fenneth> "Bah, first, let's 'ave a look at this safe."
[09:46] * Otoga notches an arrow
[09:47] * Burtel might not be the best course Fenneth.
[09:54] <GM> Bedwyr notches and arrow and draws it back, firing at the goblin it bounces lightly off the creatures tough skin.
[09:57] <GM> The furtherst goblin draws back its arm, javelin in hand, at flings it at Bedwyr. It comes close, nicking Bedwyr in his arm causing blood to drop from his arm, causing 2 points of damage.
[10:01] <GM> Burtel stands back and whistles, from the darkness his wolf runs and chargest to the nearest goblin, he jumps and tackles the goblin down and clamps down upon its head. The goblins head is crushed beyond all recognition.
[10:03] <GM> Otoga draws back his bow and fires at the clostest goblin, however it bounces hamrlessly off the goblins shoulder.
[10:05] <GM> Marie moves back a bit and pulls out her lute, she starts playing a beautiful song that inspires coruage in all those around.
[10:06] * Otoga says "That was some inspiring music, Marie"
[10:06] <GM> Harp*
[10:08] <GM> The closest goblin moves towards Fenneth to attack, he reaches back his morningstar and strikes downward upon Fenneth, however the stout dwarf moves his shield up and blocks the morningstar, directing it away.
[10:10] <GM> Fenneth strikes back, however he misses by an inch. Harmless to the goblin.
[10:12] <GM> The other Goblin marches forward and swings with his morningstar, catching Fenneth on the head, he's knocked to the ground with blood dripping from his head. He gets up quickly, however he is weak. 5 Damage was dealt.
[10:13] <GM> Kyeti throws his hands up, casting a spell, the goblins fall down, asleep.
[10:14] <GM> Bedwyr pulls his bow back, an arrow notched, he aims at the javelin throwing goblin, unconcious, he fires it goes into the goblins throat. The goblins throws its eyes open in suprise and clutches at its throat as it bleeds to death.
[10:15] <Fenneth> "Leave one alive." Fenneth calls to his companions. "It would be best to see what 4 goblins are doing in a 'uman's home."
[10:18] <GM> Burtel walks to the cloest goblin while his wolf ravages the creature. Just before it dies the wolf stops and the Elf looks deep into the Goblins eyes. Before stabbing his dagger through the creatures throat. He takes a rope from his pack and throws it near the other goblins.
[10:18] <Burtel> "Tie that up."
[10:19] * Otoga grabs the rope and ties up the goblin
[10:21] <GM> Fenneth prays to his god for strength, in return Fenneths wounds close up without a scar and he feals rejunivated.
[10:21] * Otoga borrows Kyeti's knife and scalps a goblins
[10:21] <Fenneth> "Now let's see about this live 'un."
[10:22] * Fenneth walks over to the tie-up goblin, and begins slapping it in the face to wake it up.
[10:22] <GM> You all look around the room and from the other side a large mountain of a creature stands up. It's thick around the chest but as tall as a human, it's goblinoid in shape but thick, it has deer antlers tied on its head.
[10:22] * Fenneth stops slapping the goblin.
[10:22] * Otoga shudders
[10:22] <GM> It quietly says, it's voice going higher as it speaks, "You killed me' boys. Now I'm going to kill you."
[10:28] <GM> The large creature pulls out a sword in his left hand and in his right a javelin. He throws his hand back and flings the javelin at Fenneth. It speeds into the middle of shield, piercing all the way through and cutting his forearm, causing 1 point of damage.
[10:29] * Otoga grabs the creatures head and casts produce flame
[10:29] <Otoga> *Shoots at
[10:30] <GM> Otoga casts Produce Flame and ball of fire appears in his hand, he flings it at the creature and hits it. It burns the creature but it keeps coming. (2 Points of Damage)
[10:31] * Otoga curses himself for misjudging the distance and thinking he could grab it
[10:31] <GM> Fenneth charges at the creature and throws his weight into his mace to attack it, however it harmlessly bounces off the creatures thick hide.
[10:32] <GM> (Otoga did 3 damage not 2)
[10:33] * Otoga curses himself for misjudging his courage and how burned the creature was
[10:34] <GM> Marie starts playing a sweet song and the creature sits and becomes fascinated with her. It sits and listens. However the drawn weapons around him causes the effect to break.
[10:35] <GM> Burtels wolf runs up the creature and ravages it all around, clawing and biting it, the wolf causes 3 points of damage.
[10:37] <GM> Bedwyr notches an arrow and draws it back, firing at the large creature it pierces the hollow of its throat. Blood spurts out as it clutches at its throat and collapses to its feet, gurgling it finally dies.
[10:37] * Burtel looks at the creature.
[10:37] <Burtel> "A hobgoblin. Seems it was leading the goblins on this."
[10:38] <Fenneth> "Yet again, a fine shot from our friend."
[10:41] * Otoga scalps the hobgoblin
[10:41] * Fenneth goes back to slapping the sleeping goblin.
[10:42] <GM> The goblin wakes up and lears at Fenneth.
[10:42] <GM> leers*
[10:42] <Fenneth> "Oy, glad to see ye'r awake" Fenneth says in the goblin's tounge.
[10:43] <GM> "I will not say anything Dwarf scum." The goblin spits in Fenneths face.
[10:48] <GM> After translated talks with the goblin, the goblin looks to the group as not hostiles, but still not as friends, thanks to Kyeti.
[10:49] <GM> Marie then tried to increase the groups friendlyness with the goblin, it now sees the group as friends.
[10:50] <GM> Translated talks between Burtel and the goblin gains him as an ally.
[10:51] * Fenneth unties the goblin.
[10:52] <GM> The Goblin agrees to protect you.
[10:52] <Fenneth> "So freind, what weere ye doing in this attic?"
[10:52] <GM> "We was coming in here to take gold from the mayor.
[10:53] <Fenneth> "Ah, I take it he locked you in here then?"
[10:53] <GM> Last month we sold a magical healing apple to the mayor but he stuffed us and attack while we were trading, taking the apple and the gold."
[10:53] <GM> "We came to take it back."
[10:53] <GM> "Then he locked us in here."
[10:54] <Burtel> "Alright friend. Lets break open this box."
[10:54] <Fenneth> "Never did trust 'at bastard."
[10:54] <kyeti> how long have you been in here then?
[10:54] * Otoga tests the solidity of the door
[10:54] <Fenneth> "Wait, Burtel"
[10:54] <Otoga> safe door*
[10:54] <GM> "We've been in here a few days."
[10:54] * Burtel waits.
[10:54] <Fenneth> "Check the safe to see if there's any traps."
[10:55] <Burtel> "There's nothing on there."
[10:56] <kyeti> anyone know how to pick a lock?
[10:56] <Otoga> Know, but we could probably break one
[10:57] * Otoga hefts his quarterstaff
[10:57] <Otoga> No*
[10:58] <GM> Bedwyr moves over to the safe and jams his lockpick tools in there, the simples lock quickly opens after a few minutes of fiddling. Inside is several documents and a pile of gold. Counting the gold there is 200 pieces in there of gold, 100 of silver and 6 platinum pieces.
[10:58] <GM> The documents are but merchant records.
[10:59] <Burtel> "We'll split the gold later, for now we need to get out.
[10:59] <Burtel> "
[10:59] <kyeti> ok
[10:59] <Marie> "What are we going to tell the mayor about this guy?"
[10:59] * Marie points at the goblin.
[10:59] <Burtel> "
[10:59] <Burtel> No."
[10:59] <kyeti> hide him? lie about it?
[11:00] <Otoga> "Kill him?"
[11:00] <Fenneth> "Hmm, why should we care? Fellow locked us in here."
[11:00] <Fenneth> "The mayor? Might be a bad idea. Folks in the town might not be too freindly to us if we do that."
[11:01] <Otoga> "No, the goblin."
[11:01] <Burtel> "We knock down the door and we get out. If he stands in the way we take him to the constable. If he's so crazy, I do not think they like him."
[11:01] <Marie> "We could use allies."
[11:01] <Otoga> "Fine"
[11:01] <Burtel> "Who's strongest?"
[11:01] <Fenneth> "Sounds like a sound plan, Burtel."
[11:02] <kyeti> definately not me
[11:03] <Otoga> "You go ahead, Bedwyr"
[11:03] * Fenneth laughs.
[11:03] <Fenneth> "Let the 'afling knock down a door..."
[11:03] <GM> Bedwyr stands back abit and charges slamming into the flimsy wooden door he flies through it, in an almost perfect shape of him. "Let's go guys."
[11:04] * Marie giggles.
[11:04] * Fenneth stares with an open mouth.
[11:04] <kyeti> we cant fit through that
[11:04] <kyeti> can you open the door from that side?
[11:04] <Marie> "We need the key."
[11:04] <kyeti> the door shouldnt be that hard to knock down now, i mean... look at it
[11:04] <GM> Bedwyr opens the door, it could be opened from the outside.
[11:04] * Otoga walks out the door
[11:05] * Fenneth walks down the stairs.
[11:05] * Marie follows Otoga.
[11:05] * Otoga looks for the mayor
[11:05] <GM> Vernon runs up the stairs shouting, "STOP STOP, YOU'LL LET THEM OUT! YOU'LL LET THEM OUT!" He stops and looks at the goblin trailing behind and he goes pale and faints.
[11:05] <Marie> "Oh, yeah, him.
[11:05] <Fenneth> "Well, that takes care of that problem."
[11:05] * Marie pokes the mayor with her foot.
[11:06] * Otoga grabs the mayor by his robes
[11:06] <Otoga> "What now?"
[11:06] * Burtel bends down to the mayor and searches his person.
[11:06] <Fenneth> "I'm puckered out, probably best to go back to the tavern."
[11:06] <kyeti> arent we gonna look around his house first?
[11:06] <kyeti> he may have something intresting
[11:06] <GM> Burtel finds 100gold on the man as well as a smooth, strong quarterstaff.
[11:07] * Otoga gives the mayor to Burtel
[11:07] * Burtel takes the staff for himself.
[11:07] * Otoga searches the house for goodies
[11:07] <Burtel> "This dagger is not good for fighting."
[11:07] * kyeti looks around the room

[11:07] <Burtel> "Lets go back to the Tavern and rest.
[11:07] <Burtel> "
[11:07] * Fenneth agrees.
[11:08] <GM> You all walk back to the Tavern and Coron greets you welcome, "please my friends free for you!" He gives you meat and drink as you tell your story, before retiring to your room.
[11:12] * Kyeti wonders if that meat i just ate was the rats
[11:13] * Otoga counts out his gold and retires to bed
[11:13] * Marie wonders if she could've persuaded more gold out of the mayor before going to sleep.
[11:14] * Fenneth prays to his god, and is cured of his minor wounds. Then he settles himself down for a good night's rest.
Knocked down a crazy mayor, killed a huge hobgoblin and gained a goblin ally after killing and scalping his fellows.
Also all XP added to characters pages.
