Spoiler: My Character (click to show/hide)

Yeah, the skills are messed up, but I have to go to class soon.  When I have a few minutes I'll get them all nice and lined up real horrorshow.

If we're using the Javascript one, I'll have it up within 2 hours. Dinner.

Goddamnit. Stop genning characters. I haven't even decided how I'm going to deal with the DF setting yet. I haven't decided on the creation rules we're using. Nobody has answered my questions about race availability. I haven't even made a list of players yet. Goddamnit. Stop rushing me.

EDIT : For instance, we have 9 people signed up from this thread alone, and a whole bunch of others who expressed interest earlier in the other thread. How many players is too many? It can slow to a crawl with too many PCs.

Take up the first 4 people and wait-list everyone else. :\

EDIT: You can also take on a Assistant DM.

For characters, you need to decide how many is too many.  If we use a virtual tabletop you could probably have one or two more than you'd be able to handle on a forum.

As for who gets it out of the people who expressed interest, give it to the ones who are getting stuff done *Cough cough the ones who made characters cough cough*

And again, in case you didn't notice before, I made some tentative rules for DF D&D, they're here.  Feel free to use anything in there you like but there's not much.

Thanks Cthulhu, I saw those rules the first time you linked them but I haven't had a chance to read them yet. I will though. I feel like 6 players is a pretty comfortable number, but again, I've never tried this business online so who knows. That's my tentative number though. 6.

The player list, taking into account the previous D&D thread, in order of who expressed interest first (as best as I can figure out):

Yeah. Please don't start posting characters until I've figured out the setting. Do we want a mostly DF setting (with magic and extra Fun) or a completely generic fantasy setting? If nobody else wants it to be DF based it doesn't have to be. If we want DF, do we want halfings and orcs? Do we want playable goblins and kobolds? It seems you all want to stick to the standard rolling / default starting equipment, right? I'm willing to lay down the law and decide all the rules because I'm the DM, but I just want to hear some input first. I'll start another topic for this in Forum Games for character sheets, session planning, and OOC, but after I've figured all this shit out.

I think we should stick with a normal setting. DF sounds fun and all, but it'd be more immersive if it was just a normal setting. I think we should just stick with the standard stuff so we don't confuse anyone..

I prefer generic fantasy. Weren't there 2 other DF-based DnD games? (Cthulhu's and Soulifuge's?)
No opinion on "If we want DF" stuff. Yes, rolling please. Elite array sucks IMO. For equipment, we need to know how much gp we get for our stuffs.

All right, back and I threw up a new poll to see what kind of game we wanted.

Tried the character builder, and ending up creating what was almost certainly a very poorly made dorf paladin.  Ah well.  Can't see any sensible way to make the result into postable text form, and I kinda assumed a few things when creating it, so I'll probably end up creating him again.

At the moment in RL I am DM'ing something like...7 games on and off right now.  I really cannot handle anymore.  But, ont he bright side, i really dont need any books, besides a spell clarification or two.

I'll add you to the list Gorjo. One Total Party Kill and you'd be in the game ;D You never know.

So...the vote is overwhelmingly not-DF. Fair enough. Standard core-rules it is! I don't really know anything about the Eberon setting, so I would probably butcher the setting if I tried to do that. What kind of "stuff" did you want to be able to use? I'm worried about adding stuff I'm not familiar with since I'm already rusty on the stuff I do know.

I'll start a topic in Forum Games for Character sheets and stuff later on tonight, even though it'll probably be a few days before I'm ready for the first session. Then this topic can be about finding a DM for another game since there's apparently so much damn interest.
