Melbournian here. Summer weather here is... unpredictable at best. Winter and Summer are times of extremes, and for some reason both of them can be ridiculously hot, or cold.

I need to become a certified diver, and soon, because I hate surfing and for some reason, I get paranoid about swimming.

Not so diving, despite my utter dependence on the tank on my back. Make of that what you will.

What do you understand under ridiculously? Okay, back here it's only getting ~40°C (104°F) on very hot days, but winter is sometimes at around -10°C (10°F) or even quite lower. In some village it's getting -40° (-40°F) each winter.

Kangaroos everywhere over in Vic. Or maybe that's just my place.

Nah, that's normal. The farmers have real troubles with them cause they can hop over fences to get at the crops.

The extremes don't happen often, but when they do, they leave an impression.

It was mostly the schizophrenic rain I have a problem with.

I would mount barbed wire, with horse-grade electricity, that would teach them

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Marmite > Vegimite. Plus Marmite is made by an Australian company whereas Vegimite is made by an American one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraft_Foods
Vegemite was originally Australian owned, Marmite was and still is British owned. So, Vegemite is Australian, Marmite is now from New Zealand.

I know it's not especially reliable, but Wikipedia disagrees. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanitarium_Health_Food_Company

Seriously, I don't care about Vegi/Marmite. Seriously, I can't stand either. Too sour.

There was that heat wave here last year, over 45°C (but i reckon it was about 50) for 3 days straight, I don't think anybody slept, never felt anything like it just walking to the shops.

I gotta try some marmite, I barely remember it from when I was a kid, I think I really liked it, or maybe it was just promite heh.

Yeah - we get around 50 degrees celcius heat in summer, with around 8 in winter.

Oh good God those three days. Walking 100 meters to the shops has never been so arduous. Seriously, my KitKat melted within 5 steps.

Friends of ours just down the road have a pool though. Best swim ever, it was like a bath that never got too hot or cold.

Heat? What heat? My room has an air conditioner!

I just like when Melbourne goes "Oh hey it's summer, that means it should be 12 degrees rite?"

Brissy's worse. Just hot all the time. And sticky at times, but just hot usually.

But brisbane is sunny. All the time sunny. Great. Gold Coast is better though. Far better than a lot of cities I've been to. That perfect balance between industrialism and nature.

Also... I don't like vegimite...

Nup.

What's in Vegemite? Marmite's ingredent list is: yeast (80%), sugar, salt, mineral salt, wheat maltodextrin, colour , herbs, spices, vitamins (niacin, riboflavin, thiamin, folate, b12), mineral (iron).

I thought marmite was just piss-weak vegemite.

Unlike promite.
