Melbournian here. Summer weather here is... unpredictable at best. Winter and Summer are times of extremes, and for some reason both of them can be ridiculously hot, or cold.

I need to become a certified diver, and soon, because I hate surfing and for some reason, I get paranoid about swimming.

Not so diving, despite my utter dependence on the tank on my back. Make of that what you will.

The stuff in the Australian sea is just as worse as the things on land. The stonefish, those tiny little jellyfish, that conical shelled creature and the great white shark are more then enough to keep me on dry land. Which is kind of ironic since I live 10 minutes away from the sea.

You do know that Australia is one of the worlds largest exporters of Uranium, right? Attacking one of the major suppliers of nuclear weaponry seems like a really stupid idea to me.

You be fightin' over the desert? All the important places are either hard to get to, in urban land scapes, in the jungle, inaccesible by road for half the year or in hilly places. It's hilly just not mountainous. You're also completely underestimating the Australian Armed Forces and the tenacity and the conviction of the Australian people, that Australia is theirs not some foreigners. Fairly ironic since Australia is so multi-cultural.

Ah Australia. Such a great country. Majestic Natural Beauty is kinda marred by the danger of the native animals. Or does that add to the beauty? You have reefs filled with fish off the coast of a major steel works, surrounded by built up areas of suburbs. Australia has a twisted beauty in that Industry, People and Nature live alongside each other. Not always successfully though.

Australian wildlife lives more in spite of the people, rather than with them.

No no, you see. I am giving shitty advice on the idea that I would of already warned the Australian armed forces about it and then lead them to victory on the invaders. Then using my newfound connections with the army to sap soldiers and supplys till I can make my own private army and make a soldier nation deep in the Australian desert. That's when a lone special forces member infiltrates the nation and manages to destroy all I worked for and I am presumed dead afterward.


But then it turns out I was okay and re make my nation somewhere in africa causing the same soldier to be sent after me again and after a long fight and lots of shooting he wins again, but this time I die for real. But that's okay as some people in Alaska take over a nuclear warhead disposal facility that side with my former cause threatan to blow some shit up, causing the now badass soldier out of retirement once more. But then it turns out that they and the terrorists are all clones of me in some big super soldier project that was tested first in the gulf war. But the Soldier wins again, and becomes friends with a hacker and fights a ninja.

THEN some confusing stuff happens and they send some other guy instead of the soldier against another copycat that turns out to be another clone (Who was a former US President) and he meets the former now legendary super solder and fights the new clone with swords on the washington monument.

And THEN the soldier gets old somehow as my soldier nation idea takes off and he vainly fights against it and dies (but doesn't) and finds out that I was still alive and we talk in a graveyard for a bit and I die.




And what was gained?



NOTHING.

Canberra sucks. Freezing cold in winter and boiling hot in summer. There are probably other places that are worse, but I havent experienced them therefore they are not worse. Ha! My logic is infallible.

Yeah it does, it's just more concerned with ignoring you. That is the bright side; so long as you don't actively engage Australian wildlife (unless it's a Magpie) it doesn't give a damn about you.

Actually as i speak there is a redback calmly making a web on the outside of my window's flywire screen. Fortunately i have my poking stick.


Also, we have antivenoms for most of the really nasty stuff. Odds are if you get bitten by something and get to the hospital in time it won't kill you, you'll just wish it had.

We have plenty of snakes; all the ones that are still around are particulary tough, having survived the gauntlet of spiders. There used to be a snake chilling out in my grandfather's wood pile for several years, we amused ourselves by throwing sticks at it.
