GCS web
« on: September 30, 2009, 06:05:36 am »

Geez. I never knew.. GCS actually spin webs crossing the chasm. This game never ceases to amaze.
When one of my dwarves got stuck in it, it appeared, with the message: You have discovered a hidden web:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Hehe.. According to Dwarf Companion, there are 3 GCS on this map. I've only discovered and captured 1 so far..

You got lucky, it should be easy to collect that. When I found mine 90% of the webs were over the bottomless pit... only 10% were on land.

Then again, GCS silk isn't exactly in low supply, the dwarven caravan brings loads of it. In future versions, I would like to see higher-quality cloth that only fortresses can obtain... or if the Mountainhome can bring it, make it VERY rare and expensive. Of course, there would have to be some measure of stopping clothes from wearing out/repairing clothes by then...

The webs are nice to find, but don't worry about collecting - if you've captured one anyway, farming will give you way more silk then you'd ever collect from a web (or have shipped in with caravans, for that matter.)

Of course, it'd be nice if you could treat clothing as a set or something, but you can't have everything. Well, not yet anyway.

Meh, best armor is adamant, best cushion is GCS silk.
I give adamant to favored warriors, I also give GCS silk to any favored inhabitant. ( Warriors get both )
