The Battle for Wesnoth - online games.
« on: September 29, 2009, 06:04:14 pm »

Anyone want to play an online game of Wesnoth?
I'm free for the next couple of hours, and need something to do that isn't DF.

I'm up for a game after I have lunch, which 'm just about to go to. So, post here if you want to play in 20min or so.

I would have been a couple of hours ago; I'm going to a class where I can't screw around on my laptop in ten minutes. D:

Of course, I haven't played anything but a few campaigns, months ago, so I'd probably be absolute shit at it, but it would have been more entertaining than watching my torrents tick down, and knowing none of them will finish this week D: .

Don't play against DJ if you're looking for a casual game!

This is over a week away, but there's an event called Ubuntu Game Night that plays a different game every Sunday. Oct. 11 is Wesnoth. I've never been a big fan of Ubuntu, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind non-Ubuntuites playing with them.

Drat, I just realized that I'm still on 1.4.7 because I haven't played in ages. Downloading will take ages on my 256k connection, so I guess no game for me now. Maybe later today.

Also, shush Palazzo, they don't have to know that  ;)

Maybe not the right thread, but I've been thinking of how awesome a campaign depicting Cacame's story from the very beggining would be. It'd also be rather easy to do, though we'd need someone to make all the art for the story bits, portraits, and a series of special sprites for Cacame.

That would be really awesome.

i'll make a thread about it later (or someone else interested can, i'll just join up if someone does). I should have some considerable amount of free time after today's test, but I won't be able to do it without some help. I came back to wesnoth yesterday and one of the first ideas that came into my mind was turning one of DF's awesome stories into a campaign, plus wesnoth already haves all the races built in, we'd just have to change the setting.

I'll pm holy mittens about it and see what he thinks.
