Don't use photobucket! Use the Dwarf Fortress File Archive!
It's Uristastic!

Looks good so far. Probably going to need tons of trinkets to get enough food...

Wow, I just read about the murlocks from modding discussion. This is going to be awesome! I'd also like a dwarf humie when one comes available. If male name him Servu, if female name her Lumi.

Use the Dwarf Fortress Map Archive!
There's the Dwarf Fortress File Depot, where files are uploaded, and the Dwarf Fortress Map Archive, where compressed images of maps are stored and viewed.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.

I've been playing, but not quite long enough to justify an update yet. Got the pictures working though.

DOOMSHIFTER:

And my bio, if anyone cares.

So, there's still one unclaimed miner/shield user if anyone wants him and doesn't mind Rosey. Speaking of whom, she wasn't the expedition leader or a hammerwoman, as you may have noticed. I already had one fighter-type and needed another miner, but at least I made sure she was an antisocial girl!

Story update forthcoming as I play more.

A word of advice about my raptors. They have the AMBUSHPREDATOR tag, meaning that a raptor siege  will initially go undetected until it comes into contact with your dwarves (your screen will still jump to the area where the first squad of raptors spawns). Unlike orcs and goblins, they will launch attacks regardless of the season and are a constant threat. If a lone dwarf gets ambushed by raptors, he has zero chance of escape - even a perfectly agile dwarf cannot run faster than a raptor.

If you want to prevent deaths, send out your military to guard woodcutting, construction and hauling operations. Chain animals outside the entrance so that a raptor siege or ambush will get detected before it gets inside the fortress. Most importantly, do not, DO NOT, rely on forbidden doors to keep them at bay.

EDIT: I request an immigrant by the name of Ravus. If possible, draft him into the military as a melee dwarf.

Thief:"Quiet kitty, Qui-"
Cat:"THIEF! Protect the hoard from the skulking filth!"
The resulting party killed 20 dwarves, crippled 2 more and the remaining 9 managed to get along and have a nice party.

Looks like your wish has been fulfilled, RavingManiac. We just got us...

1 Bone Carver (claimed by LegoLord)
4 Meat Shields Peasants (1 claimed by RavingManiac)
1 Animal Caretaker
1 Brewer
1 Woodworker
1 Metalsmith (lack of anvil = rrrgh!)
1 Dyer, with a pet cat (hey, looks like we found someone to sacrifice to the fire imps!)
