Bad Decision: Community Fortress
« on: September 29, 2009, 04:28:22 pm »

Okay. So, after reading about the Murlocs (http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=41214.0), I decided to incorporate them into a world. Along with Orcs, Raptors, and elves with steel. And then I embarked with humans on a tundra around a volcano. I was on the fence about whether to post it until the random name generator gave me the fortress "Drunkendeaths," built by "The Band of Problems."

The site has magma, an underground pool, and HFS on a 5x5 embark.

Community or succession? Any exciting restrictions we should impose?

EDIT: Copied the world folder before I embarked, so the race can be pretty much anything. Even kobolds. I had some fun with the raws.

I'm in on this like somethin on somethis.
If Succession: Second year
If Community: I want a Mechanic named Aleboats.

Either way, this looks like it's going to be a classic.

I assume we'll be passing the raws along too? in the event of a succession that is.

Hmm, lots of discussion for succession, but more votes for community.

I'd prefer a succession next in order i think that makes me 6.

In the community case I would like to take a dwarf named Derrick, a farmer/brewer/cook with a fascination for the purpleness of plump helmets, trying to force plump helmet's and their products on everyone constantly, with the long term goal of a beautiful purple mushroom shaped room with dedicated plump helmet farms.

Though more likely by the sounds of it for everyone to die horribly.

i'm grabbing turn 5 if succesision, or an antisocial female 3 mason-2 architect-5 hammerdorf named rosey if community. :D

heh, all those extra races doesn't impress me, but the elves with steel...

Looks like the voting is tied. That means... the next time I come back tot his thread, whoever is ahead wins!

The raws and the save will of course be passed along in the event of a succession.

They're actually a special ore. Instead of being mined, they're hunted from between the trees and instead of producing metal, they produce food: rhesus pieces.

My raptor mod, or the one used in the raptor fortress succession game? If it is the former, I very much doubt that the fortress will last more than two years. The things can move twice as fast as a dwarf, have a damblock of 10, very damaging attacks, and have not been balance-tested.

If there's still a spot free, can I have someone in crafting?

And can we be Kobolds, just for kicks~?

I picked your raptors for that exact reason. Speaking of which, check out the link in his sig for them. I couldn't find it myself.

Well, this is awkward. The poll is still showing more votes for community, but it looks like more people posted for succession. I'll go by what the poll says for now! You all get to suffer my extraordinarily mediocre writing.

We'll see how this goes. I'll post the first story update later.

EDIT: Humans don't have underground crops, do they. Oh well, I guess we'll just butcher a lot of puppies

I would like to request a butcher/tanner/bonecarver dwarf, named Legon.
