Actually, I have travelled through out my state and even outside it.  Heck, I've even been to Europe.  I've got plenty to compare this place to.  I'm still probably going to live in this state for as much of my life as is convenient, regardless of the political situation (live as in reside in.  Maybe not spend vacations in).

Ah, have you ever seen the school systems outside of the state? By the way, how is your school system up in Charleston?

Rather annoyingly, actually.  We're the only county in the state that has mid terms on Physics Day of the State Fair this year.  Which is stupid, because when you get right down to it, there was no reason for them to do that and it basically screwed over everyone that happened to be unlucky enough to take physics this semester.  We've also had poor communication.  But the actual education is probably equal to other states; we just have a wierd grading scale, so that below 93 is a B, rather than below 90.  You need higher percentages to get good letter grades, and somehow this affects enough to make our schools seem worse than they are.  They probably aren't the best, but they aren't terrible.

We do have some poorly run schools, but then who doesn't?  That's part of why No Child Left behind is Nationwide.

Edit:  Sorry, a bit of a rant there.  As you can probably guess, I heard about Physics day before I heard about the schedule screw up.

I voted Alabama because its politics are fucked up. But aside from that, the north at least (mainly talking about Madison County, as that's where I live; Huntsville and the Space and Rocket Center are in it) is pretty great. Great education, from what I hear. It was rated by some popular magazine to be (one of?) the best place(s) to "weather out" the depression. Because of NASA in the area, a good chunk of the population is engineers.

I also voted for Hawaii because it's a beautiful place. And California because stuff I like is produced and/or made there.

But really. Terrible idea for a topic. It's a flamebait thread, as Dasleah said.

And I love South Carolina for Pawley's Island. I go there almost yearly as an extended-family trip. It's kind of like a multiple-day family reunion at the beach. It's very nice.

[EDIT:] Oh yeah. Forgot to mention. Inaluct was muted (multiple times?) for this type of thing; he got a little bit carried away with his rage over a certain US state. So don't get carried away. =X
