After paying and listening to his information, show him our knives, then kindly request for our money to be returned.
If he refuses to return it, stab him.

(gosh, your a bunch of nice people arent you?)

You pay the man one of your coins.

"Well, that one over there," he points to the man on the pedestal, "is talking about the capture of some raving lunatic named Krunk. He's offering 1,000 ecu to whoever brings him Krunk's head. 'Course, you could've found that out by listenin' to him, you fool."

He starts to turn and walk away, but you grab him by the shoulder and spin him back around. You calmly withdraw your knife from its hiding place in your sleeve.

"I'll have my ecu back, then."
"Now, hold on right there, mister. You paid me fair an' square."
"Yes, and now you're going to pay me."
"Ah, hell. I could have the guards over here in an instant."
"And after that instant you would be dead. I don't advise it."
"Fine. Have your bloody ecu back."

The man hands you back you gold, and runs away. It's always good to be feared. However, the man had started raising his voice near the end of that argument, and had drawn a bit of attention. You slip your dagger back into your sleeve, and glare at the people wondering what happened.

Down the street to your right, a hooded and cloaked man alights from some kind of bar or tavern. He makes his way towards you.

You quickly move away from the hooded man. He speeds up, and tries to catch you. You turn the corner into a smaller street. There are less people here. It's a dead end. The building at the end of the road is open, with a sign out front. You dont have time to read it, and move into the building.

What you see inside is completely surprising. Its a 'house of fun'. Scantily clad women walk to and fro, while others engage in more, ah, enthusiastic activities. You start to back out of the building, right into the hooded man. You both go down in a heap, and the man curses.

"Watch where you're goin', lad."

He helps you up, then drives a fist into your face. You are dazed. It was about now you were going to try and eat him, but being stunned makes that difficult. You sit there for a minute, trying to shake off the blow, when he helps you up again. He then holds out his hand, and says,

"M'names Staruchio. Yours?"

(well, his name is actually Krunk, so yeah)

"Krunk."

You grin evilly and show him your daggers.

He sighs.

"Not this again. Look, I know whatsisface over there wants you dead, and frankly I dont care. I'm lookin for some adventure. When I saw you, I knew you'd be smack bang in the middle of one. Want company?"

Before you can answer, he pushes you out of the building.

"Don't want no unwelcome listeners, eh?"

Stab him in the face.
You know what one of those "adventures" are.

Don't stab him in the face, for he may prove to be a useful meatshield in the times to come. However, do not let your guard down around him until he proves trustworthy.

Yes do not stab him in the face. Ask him to join you and help you stab others in the face.

You agree to join with Staruchio.

"Alright, let's go for an adventure."
"Good. Now, theres a wee bit of a problem. Y'see, I'm on the run from the law too."
"Oh, thats just dandy. Where to?"
"I got a friend in high places, if we go see him he'll be able to get us off the hook."
"He better."

Star starts walking away, and you follow. He takes alot of twists and turns through side streets, until you come to a large building. There are guards in heavy ceremonial armor stationed around the structure. They all have the insignia of the lord of the palace on their chest. Star nudges you, and motions to keep quiet, and stay back. He walks up to one of the guards, and starts chatting. He points over to you, and nods. The guard starts walking towards you, with a glare on his face. Star is following closely behind. You get ready to bolt, when Star hits the guard on the back of the head with his fist. The guard slumps to the ground. Star walks over to you.

"Really think I'd rat you out?"
"Actually, yes."
"Ah well. Here, help me take this guy out of sight."

You help him drag the body into an alley.

"Alright. You want his armor or can I?"

You 'dibs' the armor. You end up having to explain to Star what it means.

"Well, it's where I have the armor. And you don't. Get it?"
"Whatever, wierdo. Suit up."

You put on the armor.

"Okay, ready. Now what?"
"Mosey on over there, and act like a guard."
