I've been playing D&D for...26 years or so now? Something like that.

I've played pretty much all the basics and a good number of odd races and classes. Psionics tends to be a favorite of mine, though.

One of the most amusing characters I heard about was a (half?) troll barbarian or something like that. This particular individual had an int of 4 and thought he was a wizard. During combat, he would close his eyes and shout spell names as he swung his 2-h sword at enemies.

@Mephisto - taht troll would fit well into any game I played in (mostly).  But as a Dm i am a harsh bastard into gritty realism, and my favorite word for players is  "consequences".  I am such a dick.  :)

@mephansteras - 29 years for me.  Psioncs are possibly my fav now too, cuz they are well balanced now. (far better than wizards or sorcs).

Yeah. Last major psionic character I played was a Dwarf with a russian accent who wore plate mail and used a heavy fail. Lots of fun, especially since he was very 'dwarfy' in his approach to things. The rest of the players got sick of him building earthworks around the camp every night, but they saved us quite a few times.

A friend of mine had Schlump, the stereotypical half-orc barbarian. He had massive intelligence, wisdom, and charisma penalties, but absolutely insane strength and endurance. At one point, our spellcasters buffed him to somewhere near 35 or maybe even 40 strength, plus Enlarge Person. He pinned the previously mentioned golem to the ground and curb stomped it. We later realized that strength buffs shouldn't stack like that.

Also, being our party's most experienced gamer, he was smart enough to solve all the actual puzzles in the dungeons, as well as determine the proper course for our party to take. He became our half-retarded musclebound party leader.

He also spent his money on elven wenches. Which he carried around on his back. Because he could.

I like DMs with flexible plots.

My fighter (Reptur) took the most brutal approach to every situation. When the party idiot set the tar-filled city sewers on fire (the Baron's statue of himself was now spewing burning tar), the Baron went to complain to the king. So we killed the caravan guards, and impersonated them (the Baron rolled a 1 on his detect motive). After that the DM decided the Baron must be an idiot, so I successfully challenged him to a drinking contest and drunk him under the table with some special Drow Wine. We dumped him in the desert, took his stuff, and then the rogue (who had a disguise modifier of 10) impersonated him. The entire campaign came to center around us maintaining our sham in that one town.

Speaking of campaigns I actually participated in, my most recent was set in the desert. We had a halfling rogue that was somewhat of a trickster. He would regularly hide under our cart and attempt to blind enemies with his silver mirror.

My own character was a boring human warlock who would hang from the ceilings and/or walls and sling blasts of eldritch energy at enemies.

Then there was the male who played the female water gensai. Hey, it's a desert campaign. We had two or three gallons of free water every day. The problem - the water was created inside her stomach. This lead to an interesting situation. Which end did the water come out of? We made fun of him for weeks.

Well, I don't remember my last DnD character but I remember my last GURPS one. She was a shotgun wielding ex soldier psychopath that pretty much both saved and nearly killed the team every chance she got.

Oh, and a lucky roll caused her to survive a 50. BMG shot to the head. That caused a lot of laughing. XD

News on Astesh:
He just detonated the OverKing's whole palace because the reward was 1000 gold short.
Apparently the largest gunpowder supply in the world is no defense against a malevolent necromancer who can make an explosive zombie.
