The most Uber of materials, the rarest most valuable substance in the game... When the time comes to bored Deep Down, what do you end up doing with the stuff What things have you used it for? From the bizarre to the Epic.

OTHER than have legendary armor/weaponsmiths crank out some serious badass equipment? :P
Not much, other than use controlled dumping to make sure every artifact has as much addy/raw addy as possible. Although I think the best value you can get other than weapons/armor is to build statues out of raw adamantine and place them somewhere, as if I recall correctly furniture counts double for being placed...
So a raw addy statue will be 25*250*2 = 12500 BEFORE quality multipliers... a legendary+5 mason will be cranking out either 62500 or 150000 with each unit of raw addy...

But the REAL thing to do with adamant is to load it into the catapults :P

Raw adamantine is only worth 750 - wafers are worth 1500 and are valid building materials.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

I stud things. A legendary metalsmith can add a value of 36000☼ per wafer, to nearly any object in your fortress. Beds, chairs, statues, bags, boxes, bins, barrels, instruments, mugs, or even the adamantine armor you made for your champions. You can give all your dwarves a Royal Bedroom by designating a 1x1 space of dirt with an adamantine-studded no-quality bed. Tantrum spirals are a thing of the past. Just make sure to give your nobility two pieces of adamantine-studded furniture, or they will be traumatized by a lesser dwarf having a better room.

Raw adamantine constructed walls :D

mo' like raw adamantine block walls

Which, actually, is a good way to boost a room's value without much effort... if my calculations are correct an addy block is worth 1250, after all... statues are still prolly better though

Less hilarious though

Because of my somewhat random feelings of perfectionism, I hoard it all somewhere I'll never use it. Then I await for a legendary craft that can use it. Weaponsmithing, armorsmithing, metalcrafting, any of those legendary.

Then I make a few sets, mayhaps pave a room with some of the stuff, then let it rot in the vault. I might place some monsters in there, so if this fortress crumbles thousands of years from now the system has renewed.

1500☼, which is the same value as a wafer. The only difference between Bars and Blocks is Bars make Adamantine Walls, while Blocks make Rough Adamantine Walls.

A masterwork adamantine statue is worth 36000☼. A masterwork adamantine decoration can be put on any piece of furniture, and is also worth 36000☼. The difference is it takes nine wafers to make a statue, and one wafer to stud. Of course, you could always carve them out of rock, but what kind of dwarf makes stuff from stone when you can make metal out of it instead?

In terms of cost effectiveness, raw adamantine statues are better IIRC

How about adamantine arrow heads for your ballista ammo?

Adamantine spikes for the spike traps

Raw adamantine mechanisms for aforementioned trap.

All exterior constructions, just to rub the goblins' nose in how much more awesome you are than them

Can't see the harm in that. I think everyone should learn to appreciate the value and quality of this material, so that they are ready to enjoy the rich and secure times of the halcyon days that will last long after they have made the discovery.
