Cats can sometimes focus on Dust.

It is hard but you can do that too.

Also once again: Tail Wagging in cats is a bad thing.

Do you mean wagging as in rapid swishing, or as in slow swishes?  Because it's only the prior case you need worry about, in my experience.  Although sometimes it's more that they are excited at the prospect of 'hunting' whatever it is they are looking at because they think it's a small, furry animal.

Of course, that's if your cat has a tail.  If it has a stub, wagging is probably bad.

Relative to the dust, at an older age, your cat may attack the carpet.  It's what mine now does.

In retrospect maybe. But getting clawed to hell then watching the cat just spit the pill out was pretty infuriating at the time.

1) Read all steps before acting
2) Wrap cat in towel.
3) Shove pill in mouth.
4) Hold mouth shut for a few seconds, repeat until pill is swallowed.
5) Try to be gentle for 2-4, else it will come back to haunt you.  Maybe.

The way the vet instructed was to have 1 person hold the cat down and upside down(1), the other opens the mouth(2), puts the pill in(3), holds the cat's mouth shut until pill is swallowed(4). The problem was that at (3) the cat would forcefully expell the pill before their mouth could be shut. We (my brother and I) eventually gave both cats their pill.

Wrapping it in a fishy fish works in theory, but cats are pretty clever, and they somehow know that there's a pill there...

Well since both my parents ride motor bikes we always had bike gloves around when we needed to give any of the cats pills, having something designed to preotect your hands from scraping along tarmac at high seppeds is definetly very usefull.

Because in order to lick it, it needs to swallow.

Anyhow as for Tail wagging they are both basically the same thing as far as I can tell (Fast means that she is very annoyed, slow not so much). Though yes there seems to be situational aspects, I've seen my Sister's cat swishing her tail when she was going to pounce something before.
