Jakkara should name her cat "Everything Nice" to go with your sugar and spice.

I say you should name the cat, assuming it is a Persian, Blofeld.

Actually, i like "Blofeld".

Unfortunatey, i'll be hard-pressed to get that as it's name.

Oh! If it's any help, it's female, and brown.

Other peoples live in my house.

It's mostly THEIR cat.

I will, however, teach it to be a hat.

I'll never understand why people name cats. It's not like they care what you call them. If they feel like coming they will, and if they don't they won't, no matter what you call them. I had half a dozen cats in the past 10-15 years, and they were all called "Here kitty, kitty".

Anyway, sucks that you're getting a Persian. Try negotiating for a normal house cat, they're much more fun.
The two cats that I have come when I call them if they're out at night, but probably only because they're scared shitless of being outside alone at night.

My cats come when I call them.  But I don't always use names.  Sometimes they will look up when I say their names, without the calling tone.  I often use a "tch, tch, tch," noise to call them, with my arms open and me neeling or otherwise lowering myself to their level.

I have a tuxedo cat, who is simultaneously the stupidest and smartest cat I know (knows how doorknobs [doesn't know how to do it without thumbs, mind], plays fetch, and occasionally poops in the toilet, but can't leave the other cat alone), and what we assume is either part mainx or part bobcat.  Stub tail, mostly brown, black stripe down the back, black rings around the legs, and an intricate symetrical pattern on the forhead, in black, and a pale belly and chin (sorta like scamps, but with a shorter tail).  We guess bobcat because she is a pretty fiesty girl.  When she was a kitten (and I a small child), she would stalk me, as she would a bird.  She brings us "presents" (hunted animals) on our birthdays and when bad things happen to the family.

During the 2 1/2 weeks I was in Europe, my family tells me they were behaving very oddly (and poorly).
