TADAA!

This entire argument is beneath us. Let us not pursue it any further.

Nobody cares, least of all me. If there's one thing I care about, it's getting this argument shut down and that seems to have occurred. Rickvoid himself said he's backing down because the whole thing is childish and we're done.

Translation: He doesn't have a point to make. I mean, the whole pathetic "I had a huge post all ready to go, but I decided not to bother" bullshit. That's not how it works, in my experience. If you have something to say, then you say it. If you don't think it's worth to say anything, then you don't. But I've only ever seen people go "I have a point to make but I won't because it's not worth it" when they don't but aren't willing to admit it. Every time I've heard that and decided to push the matter, it turned out the person had nothing.

Which is pretty much my point, I guess. I dunno. It's late where I am, I'm tired, and I don't really feel like continuing this.

Meh.

I don't really see how that point, which by the way you never made, pertains to the conversation. But whatever.

In a related but hopefully less argument inflaming note; why does one (apparantly) need to be a part of an organised religion to;
A: Do good.
B: Believe in a God or Godlike entity or force.

That is a good point. They don't. I, personally, would rather worship God in my own way, outside of churches and parishes, and certainly believe that if I didn't believe in him, I'd still do good.

You don't need organised religion, but many people want it. It's just a belief that the majority hold, nothing more.

B: Because if you don't recognize the church hierarchy, who's going to tell you what to believe?

YOU will.
Why do you need someone telling you how to worship a god/gods?

If you don't already follow and believe in it, then how is someone else supposed to make you?
By force? By trickery?

I think that a religion is moreso a name to your morals and beliefs than something to change your life completely to fit.

I'm fairly sure he was being sarcastic.

I'm not sure what happened to this thread so here's a video of the Pope with a spider crawling all over him.

I've locked this topics because I've received numerous complaints about it.  It appears to be hateful of religion and doesn't have much substance worth preserving.  Also, Sordid, try not to be so hostile.
