For the love of whatever, both of you just stop. It doesn't matter how either of you feels about this, if you continue this argument you will be muted, warned or banned. Just don't bother.

I don't think there's anywhere further for this to go anyway. ;)

You told him to 'shut the fuck up'. He is going to respond.

But yeah, I hope I'm wrong.

Now then, if he does go around making a fool of himself by screaming "You will all go to hell if you don't repent!" and "You have all been misled!"
My biggest problem with the Christian religion is how the followers, especially the priests, refuse to believe that ANY other religion could be right, and that everyone who follows them is a misguided sinner bound for the fiery abyss.

Ummmmmmm, thats kinda the point of following a religion.  If you think any one religion could be right and it doesnt really matter which one you pick then, what, its a hobby?  That certainly removes any BELIEF from the belief system!

I am scratchin my head more and more at some of these posts.

I realize that this is from a couple of pages back, but you guys are wrong here. The Church teaches that while Christianity is the most correct form of worship, that all other religions are simply the same God appearing before a different demographic and being interpreted differently. The Church does not reject any of the teachings of other religions, and we still believe that our Buddhist, Muslim, etc. brothers and sisters will also be allowed into Heaven. We don't exactly like Atheists though.

Blargh.

The hell with it. Continuing this discussion isn't going to lead anywhere good, and ain't worth risking a banning.

Jack, thanks. I was in the middle of writing a big post, trying to understand him and be understood by him, but you are right. It's not worth it.

Out.

My how you tempt me.

I'm curious. I think the problem may be that we hold a different definition for God. Hell, that statement can probably be applied to the whole of human history.

Out of curiousity, how would you define god?

[quotes]...I realize that this is from a couple of pages back...[stuff]

That's a very good reason to leave it be.

Well I'm sorry, but people were throwing around misconceptions about my faith like it was fact. How would you like it if I started spreading lies about thine chin?

Because the magnificence of my chin is self evident, but conceptions about religion are exactly that, conceptions.  You don't speak for other people's faith any more than they do, so you're just making things hotter.

Which one?

You told him to 'shut the fuck up'. He is going to respond.

Yeah, but there's nothing he can counter with. All he can do is cover his ears and go "nya nya nya, I'm not listening". He seems to realize as much, too.

Nobody cares, least of all me. If there's one thing I care about, it's getting this argument shut down and that seems to have occurred. Rickvoid himself said he's backing down because the whole thing is childish and we're done.

Which is pretty much my point, I guess. I dunno. It's late where I am, I'm tired, and I don't really feel like continuing this.

Meh.
