Modding Out Mayors

I just discovered that eliminating the [MAYOR] tag in the civ entity not only prevents the civ from having mayors in world gen but also prevents them from being elected in fortress mode.

Should have been obvious I guess.

My question is whether or not this will have negative effects on my game. Will sad dwarves cry on the shoulders of mere expedition leaders?

They should. If Dukes and Counts are still in the game, they'll cry on them, or the King if you have one.
