More control over water
« on: September 26, 2009, 12:56:32 am »

There were a lot of topics about it, but my suggestion is quite specific and isn't too hard to implement (it seems). I hope you'll support it in voting and will help to improve phrasing and content.

We want the means to control speed and height of water
  • floodgates with adjustable height
  • drainage with limited flow output
  • dams built over water-filled channels
  • pipes

I believe all those things are require same code to implement. 1 and 2 needs some interface to select required type of building. 3 is a kind of wall built from above, still letting water leaking out. Functionally 3 is horizontal variant of 2th.
4 isn't easy to make as it involves lot of mechanism and mechanics. Moreover, flow in pipes also taking part in pressure redistribution.  But water flow reduction is clear prerequisite for it.

It's all required for:
  • irrigation and water supply
  • safe bathing
  • advanced underground water features as aquifers with shallow and slow sipping water
  • water leaks
  • water logic machines
