Ugh. Please somebody read this thing.
I met this guy today.
He was either from the future, or a programming noob.
He kept trying to explain to me things that Java can do,
which seemed oxymoronic and useless,
and kept emphasizing that I didn't know how to do it yet,
but it would help me out a lot.
I don't think he understood how programming worked,
because he kept saying that it would make my game look round instead of squares.
I really wanted to harm him, then demand he not speak for twenty minutes while I scold him for his stupidity,
but he just kept insisting that he was an awesome programmer,
and that if I took the right classes, I would be some day too.
I'm not sure what to think anymore.
He kept saying that Java would make a program that didn't need files to run,
that could take the external files from anywhere else in the computer and use them.
I'm not sure if he was referring to libraries, or maybe save files,
but it was making no sense, not to mention most programs already do that,
especially things written in C.
I was like, "why would I want to put files for my game in random places in my computer?!"
And he replies similarly too, "No, you don't understand. You will eventually,
then think you were such an idiot."
The part that gave me the impression that he had never programmed ever before,
was when he saw code::blocks and said, "Oh, a text-based editor. That's good, so you will be able to learn Java or Visual Basic really easily."
Wow.
Like VB is way better than C++. *Face palm*
I don't think he knows anything, but I"ll probably see him again,
and when I called him out, he just convinced himself that I wasn't making sense,
then just shrugged it off.
