Well, a class is like a struct, except it can also have functions and more advanced features. And it is only in C++. structs are in both C and C++.

Use whatever one you can/feel like.

Is there a reason to use both?

I guess I'm learning classes then.

Well, good luck then, looking forward to your resuming work here.  If you need any help let me know, I plan on starting to learn more about classes soon too, although I already know a bit from writing "Dwarf Caretaker"...

I've got a ton of school work to get caught up on also.
I don't expect myself to be working in this game until sometime next week.

Hopefully sooner.
Sorry.

Would you like us to begin fleshing out creatures and things in the world? Like give them names, attributes, descriptions... To help with inspiration. :P

Well, I wish you the best of luck with your school and look forward to discussing this with you in the near(ish) future.  And Killas, if you want to help with creatures your welcome to contribute to my rogue-like... I'll really need someone to help with that soon...

what you've managed so far is impressive, Outcast.  There's always a new thing to be learned.

You'll find that there's no need to say you will learn classes and not structs because classes have everything structs have.

I STILL have no working connection at home (I'm going to kill someone).  I have a phone, but the phone company WICH PROVIDES internet hasn't enabled the ADSL support.

I'm also in the middle of a massive attack of college projects and exams so my time has been constrained as well.  Nevertheless, if you have any doubt you're more than welcome to ask and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction.  Classes are beautiful.  :)

In the meantime, make sure you check the link in my signature.  I've looked at a lot of tutorials and this is one of the best and most clear tutorials I've seen.

I'd even recommend to give a fast read to the topics you know because you'll probably learn a some useful things you didn't.

See ya.

PS:  I'm eagerly waiting for this the holidays (starting aproximately after christmas) to really devote myself to a project and really analize yours.

Thanks dude!
But call me Orange first, Outcast by itself sounds sort of like an insult / is the name of some band I don't really like.

I'll look into your link and learn everything that I can.

I can't wait for Christmas break either! So much will get done!

Here's some good news for all of us:
I've got my hands on a fast little laptop.
I'll probably be able to get all of my school stuff done in a couple days,
and I'll also be able to program a few extra hours on Mondays and Wednesdays.

This project should really pick up once I've gotten everything smoothed out.

Do you know when I first started this thing?
September 25th!
It's been only a month and a week since I started this thing.
This is my first real project of any sort.
This is the first thing I've every programmed with a single array in it,
and only the second game I've made in C++. (the first was a text-based IF)
I am proud of myself, and there's no way I'll let this thing die off anymore.
This thing is going to get more complex and more interesting.

WorldJem: Soon to be Epic.

When we are alone and divided, we are weak; place us together under one united banner however, and we shall sieze the day!

Good luck with your schooling..

Things are looking ugly right now. Hopefully I'll get everything done before Saturday.
Sunday is a write off for me though.

I've got a bunch of important projects to finish, a couple I haven't started yet.

Don't worry, just a few more days of this.

Here is the deal:

It seems this getting caught up business is going to take longer than I thought.

So, from now on, I will be working on my game for some of the free time I have, instead of for all of it.
I still need to pick up a guide and learn pointers and stuff, so things will be still for a while.
I think this week will be a very defining week of my life, so go easy on me, okay?

It isn't too far off that everything will be back to normal.

I'm going on a four day vacation, where I probably won't have internet, but I'm taking everything with me.
I'd give it a 50% chance that I'll be able to work on my game... sorry.

But I promise to be back on this project full time by the 20th.

I like how the latest version is (0.8)   ;D

This project is very very cool, and I have followed it since its start. I am amazed by how far you have taken it, even though I still don't full understand it. Keep up the good work!
