Long answer: PC != windows OS. There's always *nix systems + WINE.

Wine is also available on the mac, though I have no idea if it will work sufficiently well for this.

Why do they hate MS so much?
Microsoft has always been a fairly respectable company.
Mac has to do this whole silly image battle to win over "cool" customers.
I thinks it gives the whole company an irresponsible image.

Also, iPod batteries are designed to break a month after the warranty expires.

I don't know the first thing about porting this to mac.
Plus, if I held any power as a developer, (I wish)
 then I'd never release anything on mac,
 just because I wouldn't want any of my stuff running
 on one of those horrid "computers".

Anyways, today is Wii Wednesday,
 so I am going to eat some food, read ten more pages of MSPA,
 then go off to schools, where I meet up with a bunch of really nerdy people,
 and play Brawl for 8 hours straight.

they think windows "crashes too much" and "has to many viruses" or whatever. but seriously, mac has crashed far more for me. f***ing safari...

we USED to have windows computers, us kids (we each had our own computer) but then they gave us mac. they said that "a few" games wouldn't run on it. little did i know they meant "mostly every good download game on the whole dang internet".

Well, windows does have to many viruses, but if you have a modern version of windows it won't really crash often at all. I tried to get my girlfriend to switch to ubuntu for the very same reason. But she couldn't handle it because she couldn't do everything that she could on windows. One of the things she couldn't do is play videos and games from dark corners of the internet that I know are infected with viruses, but she wanted to play them anyway. I've pretty much accepted there is no way to educate her to use windows responsibly or to force here to use something safer.

You can avoid viruses on a PC with a little common sense and windows firewall. I suspect that there are no viruses for mac because no-one can be bothered to make one.

Both Apple and Microsoft have their oddities, but both also have their awesome sides. Microsoft has Microsoft Research which does a ton of great work (which is sadly only sparsely seen in their products) and which employs Simon Peyton Jones who is fairly important in the Haskell community. Microsoft also is fairly dedicated to developers. Apple makes products which are actually environmentally friendly and which are actually designed and simpe and fun to use. Apple also has built good APIs for developers, whereas Microsoft's APIs all seem to be just odd.

Personally, I use an iMac and am fairly happy with it. It came without preinstalled crapware and I had absolutely no trouble with setting it up.

yeah, but apple seems designed for work. i use my computer for gaming. i don't understand WHY they forced me to switch. this is WORSE than my PC, if anything.

As far as the Mac issue, I've used them, but never owned one, so I can't say much from experience, but as much as I gripe about Windows, XP is a pretty stable OS.  I haven't had a virus problem with it for ages, and the few times I had were due to my own stupidity.  Admittedly, Vista sucks if you want compatibility with much of anything, but 7 looks really solid...

I agree with the gaming thing though, Macs, insofar as gaming is concerned, suck.  Miserably.

ONTOPIC: This is looking awesome!  There will be cheats to spawn fire and magma right?  Cause now I want to burn things... cute fuzzy things...
