There is also Fmod, with a similar pricing scheme. I have barely used it(just once, for a program that played an ogg since the old version of windows media player I have has looping issues sometime with odd formats...), and can't compare it to the other one linked, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were very similar.

I'm not using anything unless it's free...
 if that's not possible, than I'm out of luck.

I should be resuming work on Cloud Scream today,
 and working solely on AI.

If I don't get anything done by tonight,
 I'll probably release anyways,

 since I fixed and tuned the seasons better,
 and added the small features that make the game 30% more playable.

If anyone wants to contact me on Skype,

That is all, and I'm off to watch anime.

Both Fmod and Bass appear to be free for noncommercial purposes, but if OpenAL works, it would probably be best(Since by the time you get it to work, you understand it better than the others, and I think that all of them are probably equally good)

Okay, I have added some working AI,
 and the meat creatures now have a "territory"
 which changes based on where they find food.
They can die of hunger,
 and eat tree parts to refill.
I'm working on a system where creatures can keep track of other creatures they encounter,
 and I should have some pack animal behaviors working soon.

I've been really busy lately, but I'll put my mind to releasing a new version soon.

Clearly he's working up to building a giant earth-mecha to defeat the shadowbeasts in an epic terraforming-based battle scene that involves destroying the world plate.

So, how long before you get the urge to add magma?

Oh dear god, I will soon.
Lots of it.

Also, terraform battles sound awesome.

My game right now is just designed to hold my attention.
I can sit and watch/interact with it for hours.
I will keep doing this, and then deciding what would be cool to add in quickly,
 allowing me to enjoy it slightly more.

AI is the current answer.
I want to settle down near a nest of AI creatures,
 and watch their collective struggles for survival.

Also, very soon they will be having names, and possessions.

Read that line a few more times,
 and then realize the possibilities.

There need to be Moles,
 which are AI creatures that can dig,
 which may take a longer time to make,
 but it would be cool to follow them in their digs.

Also,
 while this is somewhat of a joke,
 it would be awesome if we had dynamite,
 or something like it.
Something to where it would blow a large hole in a mountain,
 or something like that.


Also, I have a question:
 sometimes,
 when I dig,
 I will have it like 7 tiles up and down,
 but eventually there is a point in which I cant jump up.
There is nothing blocking me either,
 so I am not sure what is happening.
