RELEASE! The textures look amazing!(I don't see what they mean about the grass)

So I've changed the grass to be similar to the tree texture.
It is made up of large round overlapping speckles of different shades now.

I like how it gives the grass a "filled in" look.

It is so cool to pull up that first grass tile in a smooth grass field,
and see all of those smooth grid edges revealed underneath.

Anyways, I'm tweaking the erosion again. : )
When I'm done with that I'll fix the hiding bugs,
leaving us with a playable "game".

Also, the see-through tiles under water are hard to diagnose.
I think it is a glut issue, since I double checked,
and those ground edges should be drawing when water is adjacent.

Okay, here's the link:
Cloud Scream 0.41 (Block Textures)

The game is a lot faster now in general.
There still isn't a toggle for graphics,
so if you are having performance problems,
you need to let me know.
I might forget to add that for a few more versions,
as it isn't super important to me.

Hiding should be fixed so that any decent cave should be able to keep you hidden.
If anyone wants to test this, just stay in a cave and let it run for 10 minutes.
If the ground above is still unmolested, then it is fixed.

Tell me if you find any conflicts with the textures,
as I can still change them.

I'll change the pictures in the first post when I get the chance.
Maybe that will give me something to do during classes.

Woah, this is REALLY awesome!  :o

Still a bit laggy... But it actually feels like a real, if bare bones, game by now!

P.S. Listening to the Cave Story music while playing is absolutely fantastic.

Did you?
Where?

Thanks for the positive feedback.
This thing doesn't really run on my laptop,
 or at most barely.
I've began work on a toggle for graphics,
so they will be optional for you guys who have bad computers like my laptop.

Water doesn't do that.
Unless it carved a hole in those spots.
In the Waterplate.
The water should fall from every side.

Umm... you haven't seen a Waterplate have you?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I've posted this image before,
but this time I want you to look very closely.

Actually, it was Alfie's idea to do grooves like that.
A great idea I think.

- indication of mining (because sometimes it's not clear why i don't move, ant than i find that i'm in mining mode)
Oh and where can i find Waterplate?

I suspect the water itself is pretty straightforward, something like it tries to move straight down, and if it can't, it then moves randomly (maybe it checks diagonal openings, too?).  The erosion model is what I really like.  It's something DF totally needs.

Waterplate looks fantastic.  It starts to bring the whole creation story of your universe into the main game.

Just re-downloaded and messed around with it, and it looks freaking awesome now!

Couple things you may already know about...

1.  If you dig into one of the blue-ish hollow tubes under ground, you fall.  And you fall for a very long time, and tiles start warping all over the place and other such weirdness.  And yes, I was stupid enough to think jumping into one would be fun... :P
2.  To repeat the suggestion above, maybe a thin line between Orange and the block he's carrying, so you can tell when and what you're holding?

Also, the water-plate pictures look awesome, but I can't find any in-game, are they more recent than the last release, or am I just not looking in the right places?
