And now it's time for a story.
I had just finished adding a couple of features, and it was time to test them out.
I ferociously picked the nearest land I could find, and started up my local map.
I started digging a cave in the side of a tall mountain,
based on a clue I picked up from the generation process.
I dug deep into the hillside, frantically looking for the thing that I wanted.
I made multiple levels, and finally, on the third level in, after constructing two bridges,
I found what I was looking for.
Now was the time to test this new feature.
But I am a moron, so I accidentally dropped it off the edge of the map.
Well no bother, I could see another brick of it wedged in the side about fifteen levels below.
At this point, your asking, "How the hell are you going to get back up?"
(For those of you who are way ahead of the game, I had taken out the infinite jump bug)
So I jumped off the edge, confident that the feature I added was correctly implemented.
I lined myself up with the treasure as I fell. Only one shot to get this right. (Unless I felt like cheating)
I was now directly beside the treasure.
In a single turn, I plucked it from the cliffside, dropped it beneath myself, then picked it back up.
At this point, I was standing on the treasure, and it was in my inventory.
The cool thing about the treasure, is it is immune to the bug fix, so I now had the ability to fly.
I dashed back up the cliff, and safely flew back over to my cave.
I used the super jump ability to get way off the ground, then pounded down to collapse my cave,
for one final screenshot. Too bad that screenshot didn't make it.
Yes. Now you have a reason to seek out the treasure.
I'm going to modify the generation so that they never appear in the edge of the map.
That should make them more of a treat to hunt down.
Expect a new version with these changes soon.
