Press Enter to select the currently selected tile. Pick one above land for best results.
Then, once you're zoomed into a tile, move upward until you can see the selector box again.
Press Enter in the local view to select the position of Orange.
Orange has basic controls.
Space collects the brick to the left of Orange.
Press E to jump, and R to fall faster.
Pressing R while standing on the ground turns the tile you stand on into plate tile, which currently floats.
I just added these tools to inspire some playing around.

I look forward to seeing what you get.

Here's an image of what you should expect to see if you select a land tile (grey):

I've added a temporary version of the water table, to be improved later.
Also, I will add tile sets to be used depending on the location you pick, so there will be variety in the other tile types as well.
Currently, only the sky tile (the one above whichever tile you pick) really affects the map.
Soon all six sides will effect the map (they sort of already do) and there will be slope depending on the surrounding map tiles.

Looking good!  The house and the water tiles look particularly impressive.

On the Wall is a Masterfully engraved carving of Urist McHardcastle and Goblins. Urist McHardcastle is surrounded by the Goblins. The Golbins are stamping on Urist McHardcastle. Urist McHardcaste is laughing at the Goblins. The carving related to the prolonged and bloody death of Urist McHardcastle in the Fall of 1659, the Winter of 1659, and the Spring of 1660. On the engraving is an image of Cheese.

The other five surfaces meld with surrounding tiles the same way that the top side does.
I'm going to work on a sub-world local array, to store surrounding tiles, so the map sizes can get bigger.

You guys need to repply more... I'm losing steam.
It's hard to keep this thread updated, and have the will leftover to add to my blog.

Don't worry, I'm still following this!

Even though I should be working on my picture. I've only got two guys out of an entire army done...

Anyway, I'd love to play around with this new version, but I can't. Yet.

I've been following this, but hadn't been saying anything yet.  It looks pretty cool, but I'm a little confused about the features.  I mostly understand the terrain and that you can build stuff, but I get a little foggy after that.

Of course, I think I might have skipped a page or two by accident, since I first looked at this when it was about 9 or 10 pages.  Not sure.

Wow! I feel kind of bad for asking now. Thanks for the support though.

I have no idea what this game is going to end up like.
At the moment, the universe (really big pretty thing) is composed of 150x150x150 tiles.
You can pick any one of those tiles to zoom in, at which point you can build and stuff.
That's about it really.
Soon, the local maps will include multiple tiles, as soon as I get that working.

I've added a tag for gravity, so that adding new tiles to the program will be faster and easier.
The thing about having dynamic gravity, is that each map is suspended over open space,
so they entire thing can fall out of view forever.

I'm currently working out a system to stop this problem.
