Why are you trying to force him to a multiplayer when it hasn't even defined yet a single player style?   Let it grow at it's natural pace.  Orange has been consistent enough.

Consistency is, in my opinion, one of the most admirable traits of this game and his creator.  Harder to pull off than anything else.

My apologies if that's what it sounded like I meant, I don't personally see how exactly this would work as a multi-player game anyways, thus the question...

On the engraving is an image of Cheese.

I will try eventually.

I would like to know how to do multi-player games,
so it's only natural to try it out with Cloud Scream.
I can think of ways that would work,
but not until I've redone the player interactions.

On another note,
you guys have nearly brought me to tears.
Maybe I'm just extra weak this morning, (evening?!)
but you people are too kind sometimes.

I"m going to finish up work on these land features,
which might entail a few headaches,
after which I intend to add in a few more species of plants.

I'll report back with progress.

So after looking at it on some graph paper,
I figured out a procedure for making these mammoth terraces.
They will be the perfect breeding grounds for a new sort of plant I hope to implement.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

In the first picture, we see a huge tower grid in the distance,
and a flat grid running over the top of a lake.

In the second picture, I found the coolest setup,
with an abandoned building sitting next to a huge complex,
which features a round plate sticking out of one side.

Nearer to the camera, you can see yet another grid, with a river behind it.
When I started the map, the water was pouring through the grid.
It was pretty sweet.

Also, water CAN affect the purple material somewhat,
slowly morphing and shifting its blocks.

Being mostly hollow, and having clean vertical shafts,
these offer no protection from the sky unmodified.

I'm going to add in a spherical version
before I move onto the next land feature.

EDIT:

Terraces have a one in five chance of filling in with land.
I've used one of the crystal abilities to rip a hole into the side of this one.
(After cheating myself to one thousand crystals)

EDIT 2:

I'm going to add in the ability to punch out the ceiling.
That way you can finally mine upwards, making these filled terraces much more fun.

Oh, and when I said water can slowly morph these things, this is what I meant:

Wow, those screenshots look awesome - I can't wait to try out the next version. Are the terraces set dimensions, or did you make them so that they can be any size?

They can be any random size,
 rounded,
and possibly filled in with soil and trees.

A lot of them are spawning either underground up way up in the sky.

Since I've been testing them,
I've found a quite a few interesting setups.

I found a few bridges connecting two mountains,

I found a case where a soil one had made a bridge over a valley,
 creating a huge cave.

I found a 1x1x30 grid,
which was just a long horizontal rod sticking out of a mountain top.

In one rare case, a soil shell had formed, without a grid inside.
It was really fun collapsing and deforming too.

--------------------

I've begun work on a new sort of plant,
and though they are seriously broken right now,
 the results are promising.

So the crystals create a large mined out area?

I finally got the "collapse plants" to grow the way I desired them to,
and along the way I had a ton of fun testing them.

Here's one that grew above and around my cave entrance:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They are entirely unrestricted in growth, so if given something to grow near to,
 they can get immensely big.

When parts break off or collapse,
 those parts turn into water.
So once they reach a certain density and size,
 they are basically rain clouds.

They can sort of grow in the terraces, but not easily,
so I'm going to redesign the terraces to have more negative space in them.

It freezes.
I have no idea how that will be affecting these plants.
I suppose there will be fun things for everyone.
Also, I will not be applying the seasonal appearances to the collapse plants yet,
as I have no idea how to easily do it,
and I'll probably have to think up a universal way to get away with it.

On other news, today is a day I do very little usefulnesses.

Wow, Cloudscream has gotten much more destructive lately.  Those new plants sound cool, are they kind of like vines?  I'm not sure if you keep track of shade, but that would be a good way to motivate plant growth - only expand into areas that have light, and slowly die if light isn't available.  In fact, that would make for a good 3D cellular automaton...

On the "destruction" note, are you planning any features that would build up the world more?  Plants that turn into soil, mound-building critters...  Perhaps there could be different varieties of the sky monsters that attack by dropping a bunch of lava or soil onto a spot.

I just realized how much that purple material makes me think of the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

There are already some basic method for the world to fight its destruction.
Trees terraform the area around them, turning it back into livable soils.
They also need open air to survive, which basically means outside,
 or in extremely large caverns.
Sunlight is harder to fake without slowing down the game.

The ice won't be able to form while falling,
but it can in rare cases.

In a fit of uncertainty,
I finally got up the nerve to finish the map generation,
sat down for a few hours, and mapped out a process that looked promising.

I started coding the first chunk of the code,
which is designed to create a large block grid based on the universe map.

It doesn't work at all like intended.

I finally got actual map parts to show up, but I can't make out what anything is,
or where the game is getting its information from for the local maps.
I will pick a specific area, and end up with something entirely unrelated.
I can't comprehend where the problem could be, so I'm at a temporary loss,
and it will take longer than expected to get this thing playable again.

I also unearthed a couple more crash causing issues,
which have been added to the list of unfinished items.
