Well, to be fair, the argument "Y is bad. X causes Y. Therefore, X is bad." only works if Y is already thought of as bad.

Because that view is already present with the target group.

Yes hence he is reinforcing it. I never suggested he was creating the idea I said he was reinforcing it. It is not how they should be thinking so we should be encouraging them not to think that way rather than reinforcing that view.
