Didn't you say you'd killed a whole bunch of orcs in your diary? It's not showing that way in the unit screen, the only dead are the two I killed, and it's definitely the year after your turn.

after i killed those orcs they manadged to break in. so i saved scumed.

I better delete that from the diary.

(i used the last 4 pieces of wood to make 2 crosbows and bolts.)

I'm playing again now, and for the next couple of hours. Here's the start, I'll edit the post as I go along:

11th Granite
Apparently the stocks were incorrect. We have no wood, metal or bones, and while we have ore and access to magma (and can therefore get metal) we have no anvil to make anything with. Therefore we cannot make any bolts whatsoever.
I have ordered a tunnel to be dug up to the magma anyway, ready to be breached when we do have an anvil.
I also found that our farm plot is outside, with the orcs. That's no way to get more food, so I've ordered another plot to be dug out underneath the first. This way once the orcs are gone we can breach to the surface, wall around the surface plot and have combined surface/subterranean farm.

16th Granite
The elves have shown up. Hope they find a way to scare off the orcs (Ha!).

18th Granite
I say that, but the orcs didn't wait around to meet them. Something fishy about that.

22nd Granite
Apparently we have hit damp stone trying to dig up to the farm. I suspect we have an underground pool here, because we're quite distance below the brook.

3rd Slate
It would appear to have actually been an aquifier. Some quick construction by Kadol Shorastdolek has walled up the tunnel leading to it, and we managed not to lose any workshops.

 Dante has mandated that the entrance shall be lined with heads of elves on spikes to scare away the orcs.

Not very, about 20 degrees celcius, but still 50 dollars saved by the school bored = 50 more dollars to spend on heating. which they don't turn on until i'ts -10. without windchill. (aka, no heating till late november, which is fucking cold!)

Yeah, that's not happening. I'll see about tomorrow, but the 250 mile drive I have might cut into my day a little. Other than that I'm off the next couple of days.

yes, i do know. just the other day to avoid being cold (almost all my classes are on the third floor, which means more coldness than usual) i was wearing a t-shirt, 2 sweaters, and a leather coat. and I still felt cold. The only warm room in the school is the computer room, due to the fact that there are aprox. 50 computers running in there non-stop. Thank god I have it at least once each day.
