i usally just go with a massive tower with a bridge on top and drop them, or an atom smasher, not that creative but it gets the job done.

What do you guys like to do?
Why not combine the two?

Have him drop down, and then upon contact, use an atom-smasher to clean up.

Step one: build a tall tower. A stack of up/down stairs is fine.
Step two: build a 1x1 bridge at the top of the tire.
Step three: Have the offending dwarf build a wall on the other side of the bridge.

I usually use this for mayors that like resources I don't have.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

If I've been lucky enough to catch a wild animal who's fairly vicious (cougar, beak dog, etc) and I'm playing the dark dwarves mod, I chunk them. Build the animal's cage in a room with cage traps behind the door, hook it to a lever, and set the lever to only be pulled by the Potash Maker or whoever. As soon as he goes into the room, lock the doors. The lever is pulled, the worthless dwarf is butchered into a dozen or so chunks, then you unlock the door. The wild animal runs through the door after more dwarf flesh, steps on the cage trap, and gets carted away, meanwhile the other haulers (either lucky enough to have come early and avoided the butchery or dwarves with redundant valuable skills) carry off his clothes to the finished goods stockpile and make soulstones out of his disemboweled corpse.

Feels very dark dwarven, and it's a nice break from butchering the dwarf soldiers who siege constantly and, in spite of the dwarves prowess with mechanisms, are just as trappable as your average gobbo. If I'm not playing the Dark Dwarves mod, I either use a giant pit or magma. Magma's fun, but all you get is the "Urist McPotashmaker has bled to death" while a 15 z-level fall splatters blood everywhere. As extra fun, put all your soldiers on active duty, recruit all the worthless dwarves, and have them spar next to a pit. Any dwarf who survives that wrestling long enough to get to Expert gets to live.

Ooh, idea.

Make a pressure chamber and pop your malcontents and invaders like popcorn. Or pressurize them to the point of being a literal blood diamond.

Even better: suck air out of room and watch their heads pop!

I have a long entrance hall in most of my forts with niches dug out every few spaces. Dwarves I'm displeased get drafted and stationed there while a mason walls them in. Dwarves that really screwed up get stuck behind a fortification in the main dining hall.

You probably can make them wall themselves in... I had dwarves do that (stupid dwarves), and I had to make them deconstruct the wall/mine another tile to get them out.

Haven't implemented it yet, but in my latest Orc mod fortress, my dwarves have a moat they dug between a couple of rivers that connect to a lake. I plan on making a water tower like so:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Pull the lever, water pours out and flings you into the lake.

That would only work if pressurized water actually moved objects - as it is, it'll just flood the countryside (and possibly drown the dwarf if he doesn't escape in time).

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

"For the love of God, Montressor!"
"...Yes, for the love of God."

Personally, when I have bad dwarves, I send their entire family up to top of one of my large towers/bridgeapaults.  Then, I make the dwarf pull the lever attached to the bridge.
If he tantrums at their deaths, he's effectively dealt with.  If he doesn't... his room value goes up by the cost of a few coffins.

"For the love of God, Montressor!"
"...Yes, for the love of God."
+1 awesome point for Poe reference.
For extra points, make a dwarven wine stockpile at the walls and nickname the dwarf Fortunato.
