Same here. I'm not lean, but I'm far from fat.

I'm not sure. What's the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist?

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor with a specialty in mental health.

"Psychologist" is an incredibly broad term that can mean hundreds and hundreds of different things, just like "artist" or "mammal."

Oh yeah, and on topic, get melatonin. I experimented with tons of different sleeping aids: NyQuil, makes my body feel horrible and gives me weird shivers; Tylenol PM, similar body sensations to NyQuil and leaves a hangover the next day...a few others I forget...and then Ambien, which knocks you out pretty quick and generally doesn't have a hangover, and has the added benefit of making you higher than a kite and experience extremely pleasurable hallucinations until you fall asleep. but the downsides are that it made me wake up really early and so not get enough sleep on the other end, the "high as a kite" period also had some characteristics of being blackout drunk, i.e. doing shit I didn't remember such as once, buying some pair of shoes online that I would never wear, and finally the most important one, which is that the shit is as addictive as heroin. That's why they only prescribe it in two-week supplies, but a person with less self control than me would find ways to get it from the black market. It's the most pleasurable drug I've ever used, but wayyyyy to addictive for me to fux with.

Anyway, melatonin is where it's at. First off, it's a chemical that your brain secretes naturally. Second, it doesn't give you (well, me at least) any of the unpleasant bodily sensations or hallucinations from some other medicines. Sometimes I think it makes me hallucinate mildly, but it's really that it just gets me quickly into that almost-asleep state where you're starting to dream. Third, it generally makes me sleep the whole night, unless I forgot to eat before bed in which case I'll wake up hungry. Fourth, it's not really addictive...I've found I can get a mild "psychological" addiction to it but it's nothing like the craving I got for Ambien which is the only substance I've been addicted to.

Downsides are, it's a little pricy (but it's OTC at any pharmacy), and I found it makes me have to get up and pee like five times in the half hour before I actually fall asleep. Also, gives me drymouth so I always need a glass of water next to my bed. Anyway, it's overall very good. Check it out.

Mattafact, I'm gonna take some tonight because it's 1 AM and I'm still wide awake, which doesn't bode well.

Cautionary word.  If you take sleeping aids EVERY night, you will become dependant.  Consult physicians if you need an aid every night.

Have you tried marijuana? Probably better than any pill (and safer). Just have a little bit an hour or 2 b4 you crash. You can get it medically in some places. I've also found passionfruit can make me a bit sleepier. I feel for ya, insomnia is bad shit.

Really? Pot is safer than melatonin? A brain cell killing drug is safer than a substance your body naturally secretes?

Please provide sources that state that weed kills brain cells.

Everything I've read states otherwise...

Melatonin is safer then weed either way though.

It isn't directly due to the weed, more like the smoke restricts oxygen from getting to the brain. Remember kids, drugs are cool with proper ventilation!

Doing some research, I don't think there's been overdoses on either drug. However, " Melatonin is a very new product, and side affects are little known. " (1) . Whereas pot has been used safely for thousands of years.

I've never taken melatonin, but just browsing around I can see there are various concerns. (Eg. tolerance buildup, higher doses becoming counterproductive).

If sleeping aides are becoming less effectual than cannabis is a worthwhile consideration imo.

Marijuana is one of the most harmless drugs around, it's almost impossible to overdose on and there's never been any evidence of it causing physical addiction.

The smoke on the other hand, will fuck you up good.
