This might be related:
I like to keep dfcompanion open in the background to watch for unhappiness, and sometimes it will report a dwarf or dwarves with very low amounts of damage, so low that it doesn't appear on the wounds screen ingame.

My pet theory is that the game simulates everyday injuries as dwarves are working. They drop a rock on their foot, hit their thumb with a hammer, scrape some skin off on a rock, walk into a low outcrop and bruise their eye, that sort of thing, and most of it is just too small to register on the wounds screen. Maybe the bruised eye is just the one-in-a-million injury that actually made itself known.

Dwarves don't get minor injuries from working.  A dwarf sure as hell isn't going to poke his eye out while working...actually, you might be on to something.

Barring some random beastie the only thing I can think of is a tantruming dwarf or a beat down for a crime.

With [SLOW_LEARNER], dwarves probably don't sit around and talk anymore. They just stand in the same corner altogether, staring at each other, sticking their bearded lips out trying to make sounds. And giggling when someone actually says a whole word.

Perhaps this dwarf got in a fight with a legendary vermin who wanders the caves.  Every once in a while this vermin pick a fight with a dwarf who paths next to it just to build skill, the only reason your dwarves aren't dieing is becuase this vermin's size is very small and it is only sparing with the dwarves to ensure more come back.  This vermin got to legendary status by fending off your catsplosion.

DC does show some weird damage on my dwarfs. I usually have 1 or 2 dwarfs bleeding (low number) while doing work. I always thought it was work related (they were smelting and stuff)
