Okay. So. A trashcan full of blood is pretty ridiculous.. Something, or someone, has certainly gone to a lot of trouble to fill this can up, since someone would have had to lose, oh, about half, three quarters of their blood. Not to mention the HUGE smears on the walls. This implies several victims. Or something really large bleeding all over the place.

Now, since we found a gun just lying around, I would guess that firearms, and thus a means to defend oneself are fairly widespread. This has not done anything for our previous occupants. Therefore, we run the fuck away from any mobs or monsters or whatever the hell we run across.

Also, upend the trashcan and take the objects inside.

Well, I have this sneaking suspicion that we're going to have to get past them to escape. If that's the case, stealth and speed are our friends.

You pick up the panel and put it aside. Under it is a dark little cubbyhole, which holds a crowbar. You take it.

Dump the contents on the floor.

Kick the bin on the floor, letting the floating things become grabbable.

You shove the trash can over, spilling the contents all over the floor.
