You walk to the left. There appear to be large bits of floating debris, leading up to a half-sunken ship a ways out.

Do this. Also, peer across the water and discern surroundings.

The water continues far into the distance. Actually, now that you think about it, it's more like a river. You guess the boats go downstream to somewhere?

I figured. Go to the elevator and look for a button.

You find a button on the wall next to the elevator and press it. The door opens.

The debris is floating out of reach, and is too big to pick up. You could probably hop to it, though.

You don't know why anyone would trap an elevator, not to mention that it would kind of suck if you couldn't go anywhere else. You peek your head in and, seeing nothing, walk inside. There is a down button and an up button, but the down button is flashing red.
