You try to make a flail. While the result might vauguly count as a weapon, it is way les effective than a spear. (Flails are raw strength weapons, to make a decent flail it must be heavier than a kobold could wield. If you have accurate historical data proving me wrong I might reconsider, but I'm pretty sure of it.)

You already have spears. All the jocks were carrying spears to the graveyard, you don't currently carry a spear but if you want one you just have to pick up one of all the ones lying around. You alredy have slings, you already have made engravings. Dammit come with some interesting things soon or I'll be forced to railroad of deus ex machina.

You don't do anything more that night. The early evening the next night all the jocks come back, they have no clothing or equipment and they are stark raving mad and of no use, but physically unharmed.
