I may have finished the D&D prestige class I have been working on for over a year...

Maybe.  If I don't change my mind about it.

Again.

If I had never multiclassed, I'd not have to worry about this.

This thread grows far too quickly, but perhaps that's a good thing.

It was my cat, sitting behind me. Nya nya♥
The footsteps and voices weren't him though.

I seriously almost had a heart attack. My paranoia and other disorders got...awakened... recently.
You know, hearing voices, breathing, footsteps, and knocks on the windows. Seeing people in your room at night and almost concealed behind stuff, but they vanish when you look fully. Feeling things touch you. The usual stuff, ya-know?

I can somewhat sympathize with this, I keep imagining that one day, I'm going to be in my room when it's dark or something and then get attack by one of these things.

Oh man.  Last night at around midnight I woke up and learned over to get a drink (I always leave a drink of some sort on my nightstand in case I wake up thirsty) and so help me, there was someone in my room.

It would help to visualize it if I explained the layout.  My bed is in the corner, in a large but shallow closet whose door has been missing for about as long as I've been alive.  If I'm lying in the bed on my back, the bedroom door is to my right, on the same wall the head of my bed rests against.  Since I'm in an alcove, however, I can't actually see the door.  There's a small intervening wall.  When I leaned over to get a drink, I saw a human head peeking around this wall.  I stared at it for a second, trying to figure out if I was really seeing it, because it was very dark.  I was about to decide I was just seeing things when it poked back out again.  I drew in a very audible gasp, and stared at it a few more seconds.  Finally, I turned around, set the now empty can of Coke against the wall (There was no way I was going to reach over and set it back on the nightstand), tucked the blanket under me in a vain attempt to seal myself off from whatever it was, and went back to sleep.  I was freaking out.

Also, I know I've been having a lot of disturbing lucid dreams lately, but this wasn't a dream.  The Coke was still on the bed when I woke up.

My grandparents.  The door never opened, I know it was just my imagination, but it still freaked me out.  It kind of looked like my brother, and I thought he might have come over and was messing with me, but he's not here.

If it was within arm's reach, I'd have punched it. Im simple like that. I also used to keep knives under my bed.

Also, the blanket thing is the right move to pull. Blankets are invincible.

Wikipedia's article of the day is Planescape: Torment.  That's just great.

Watching old episodes of Yes Minister.  Totally hilarious... hmm, now I can't seem to take anything political seriously.  Ah well.

One time I went to sleep with a hockey stick in arms reach.
